I thought my daughter had gone missing

I had a call from my daughter's boyfriend's mother at 9.15 pm last night (sunday 10 October 2010) who was panicking because the my daughter and her boyfriend were no where to be found when she arrived at Sunshine Coast airport to collect them. Apparently Jetstar would not disclose information as to where the flight was or even if it had landed. After I was contacted by the Mother who was in a panic, I called Jetstar. It took 45 minutes of me waiting in a queue to speak to a Jetstar operator who told me the flight had landed at Sunshine Coast at it's scheduled time of 6.15 pm. You can imagine the panic as now we believed the kids had somehow gone missing. Finally, after hours of panic, my daughter was able to contact me and told me that the flight had NOT landed at Sunshine coast on schedule as I had been lead to believe, in fact, due to bad weather, they had circled Maroochydore for an hour before the flight was diverted to Brisbane airport and then the passengers were transferred by coach back to Sunshine Coast. On top of this, Jetstar had lost their suitcase and told them they couldn't do anything about helping to locate it. I have never flown Jetstar before and after this, I will make sure I never do. I would expect better service for a carrier in a third-world country. This is abysmal !!!!!

Your a dickhead...

Your a dickhead... Period.....
It sounds like the question asked to the person at the service desk at the airport was worded incorrectly.
The governments privacy policy doesnt allow the staff of an airline to disclose passenger information to a 3rd party.
How bout "has this plane landed yet" as the question asked, for a more promt answer.
Also instead of calling jetstar service desk, why wouldnt u call your childs mobile. If they were transfered to different flights or modes of transport, you as a parent should be informed by your child. Do you honestly expect jetstar staff to call the parents of those flying, or sort it out with those who actually are paasengers????
How do you like them apples????
PS: Your still a dickhead...

" I would expect better

" I would expect better service for a carrier in a third-world country. This is abysmal !!!!! "

I doubt a third-world country carrier would be better than Jetstar.
They circled the airport & diverted for safety reasons, right ?

You didn't book with them, you don't need to be given any information regarding the flight due to Australian Privacy Laws which prevent disclosure of the actual passengers information, such as if they had of checked in, landed or not boarded.

Relax, buddy.
