Jetstar discriminates against families

The first and last time I flew Jetstar

Jetstar discriminates against young families and here is how.
I'm flying with my wife and my 2yr old son. He has a booked seat and is not flying on our lap. This gives us a 7kg each - 21kg.

With our online check in complete and our omboard luggage ready to go we made the mistake of asking the help desk about checking in the pram at the gate.

The answer was no, no check in at the gate. We risk the pram not making the flight.
This meant carrying a tierd 2yr old through to the gate.

Our next mistake was to check in our pram at bag drop. This cost us $60.00 for being 2kg over our 21kg combined limit. They even made us redistribute the weight between the bags. It was pretty humiliating standing in line having to pull out jumpers, personal item etc.

Further at the gate no-one had their bags weighed. No red tags to say the bags had been weighed.
We unfairly had ours scrutinised. And also had to deal with a very unhappy infant.

Never flying jetstar again.

I might also add that they have no customer service when dealing with complaints. Their online chat is appalling and makes the consumer feel powerless to have their voice heard.

Do yourself a favor a don't fly Jetshit
