Jetstar, this is not 'nam, This is flying. There are rules.

To date I've have not have never had a good time flying with jetstar, however this experience really left me feeling like I had been "log jammed"!! Anyway, here are 7 good reasons to "do not to fly" with jetstar:

1. Direct Flight from Tokyo to Gold Coast was changed twice. The last change (on the day) resulted in a 6 hour stop over in Cairns.
2. Return flight from Gold Coast to Cairns was cancelled without notice. Actually there was notice, however jetstar only bothered to SMS and call Japanese phone numbers. Not the smartest thing to do when your passengers are obviously in Australia. A simple email would have been enough.
3. Without agreement, Jetstar rebooked the flight from Gold Coast to Cairns departing over an hour later. This resulted in a 10 minute stopover in Cairns. It is quite obvious Jetstar staff have never been to Carins airport as the walk from the domestic to international airport is probably around 10 mins alone. What about time to collect bags and check in?
4. By chance we checked the status of the flights the night before leaving and realised what had occurred, a phone call was then made to jetstar. Actually 2 calls were made, the first call was cut off by Jetstar's staff.
5. So after spending over an hour on hold, jetstar's solution to the problem was a refund!
6. After arguments, heated discussions and finally being put through to the "manager" a solution was found! An early morning flight from Brisbane resulting in a 4 hour stopover in Cairns. Wow spending 10 hours in Cairns airport in one week - awesome work jetstar.
7. Given the third rate, bush league treatment by jetstar, do you think an upgrade to star class would be appropriate? No! jetstar couldn't do that, a $100 voucher to use on jetstar flight will have to suffice (think again jetstar, people don't wish to fly with you again after being subjected to your incompetence and very very poor customer service).

So time to think about flying with someone else from Japan to Australia! My experience is that even though you book a direct flight you will never get it and jetstar will never compensate you for changes. Time to shop around people, jetstar are not always the cheapest, they are however the worst airline I have every travelled with.

They are so bad you have to

They are so bad you have to think its deliberate. I suspect its a ploy to downgrade Qantas share values break the back of Qantas so it can then get a shareholding form overseas without restrictions.
