I think Jetstar is just asking to get sued. Actually i was thinking to dedicate a site just for them and bad publicity, letting people know the truth about Jetstars customer service and poor business practices. If i chose to stay in Australia (which is where i am at now) i will make time in permanently letting everyone know about Jetstars unethical practices until they are run out of business. I think massive boycotts and reports to papers calling them out will do the trick...
My story:
I purchase 1 ticket from Philippines to Singapore, which was 117. There were repeated "error messages" on jetstars booking system which i later found out was a jetstars problem and said they were trying to fix the site. So I tried from different computers/connections several times with no success, didn't receive any confirmation for a booked ticket, nor did any ticket come through to me, just "error"
So then the next day i tried one more time, it worked. I checked my account that day and low and behold i was charged 6 times for the same ticket! (my previous tries the day before) + the one i just booked so that's 7. Ok so easy enough, i figured i'd just call jetstar and fix this simple mistake and have them refund the money to me.

I ended up on the phone with jetstar over 10 times in a period of 3 months, and each time they told me the same thing "sir, you are a liar, you card was never charged, we don't have your money, there's nothing to refund"
I'm serious i was called a liar half of the times i called. This is even after i faxed bank statements to their finance department and followed up and everything. They said "yes sir, we have received your letter and your bank statements that list that you were charged on your card for the same ticket, but it wasn't us, that's just another company with the same name and same ticket and airline, sorry sir it wasn't us, we don't have your money"

The short of it all, is i never did get it solved with jetstar. I ended up having to issue a dispute through my bank and 3 months later, after jetstar could not justify the charge to the bank (obviously) i was refunded not by jetstar, but my bank.
Nice free loan jetstar! Yet another way jetstar continues to rip off their customers and offer the worlds worst customer service FROM ANY BUSINESS. JETSTAR SHOULD NOT EVEN BE IN BUSINESS, THEY ARE SCUM.
I just feel bad for the workers that are being brainwashed by them to purposely make peoples lives difficult. I will celebrate the day jetstar goes out of business!

Yes, I can genuinely attest to the fact that the groundstaff and cabin crew ARE instructed by their superiors to ignore any customer complaint; this includes requests for refunds. In another more sinister stroy, I was actually told by a senior member of staff to do everything possible to con the passengers out of money. I quit soon after hearing this, and I dont even include my short time with Jet Star on my resume. It`s hardly an acheivement to say you`ve worked with these crooks.

You should have disputed it with the bank long ago. Sometimes there is an issue with the payment gateway in which the airline DOES NOT receive the money and the bank holds it. The banks actually have the power to authorize the charge back from Jetstar if warranty. You know why the couldn't? Because Jetstar obviously didn't have the money.

You're right. The only people who take phone calls from the general public are the reservations agents who really don't have too much power or influence when things (such as the above) go wrong.

Yeah, I've having a similar problem, I've paid my for my flight with a direct deposit on netbank. They have the $200 for my flight, from my bank account, with of course my name being on the bank account.
But then I read (in very small print) that you need to put your booking number in a "comments box" when you make the transfer. I've never had to do this before in any internet transactions.
So, it's a small problem, you would think.
I call Jetstar and they tell me to fax the mystery finance department with the booking number and my receipt of payment. I did this twice and still nothing happened. I called to tell them that my booking would be cancelled if it's not processed, as it's still technically on hold. I was assured that it wouldn't be cancelled, to sit and wait and call back if nothing happens.
So of course what has happened? I get an error msg if I log onto "my booking". They have appear to have cancelled my booking and taken my money! They had NO intention of receiving my fax and processing my booking!
There is absolutely no one to help you if something goes wrong with your booking. NEVER book with this airline, they will try to steal your money at any opportunity!
I can only imagine that hundreds of people are making this same small mistake everyday. And Jestar is pocketing all of it!

I will add to the list of the many disatisfied Customers JETSTAR are collecting. My flight was cancelled by JETSTAR due to the Volcanic cloud from Chile over New Zealand. JETSTAR made no attempt to contact any one to inform them of the cancelled flight. I spent over 8 hour on a phone either waiting or talking to some numbskull in the Phillipines.
Will, who couldnt speak english,Alex, who was about as help ful as a shoe string on a dump truck, Chris Porth, he kept putting me on hold due to the fact he had no idea what to do, his supervisor Mark(agentXMVI02) who lied to me telling me he was going to ring me the following day, yea right?????still waiting Mark?/"Sharon" could some please tell Sharon what day it is.???and Berns agent(XPGA02).who couldnt put me on to any one else, had no phone or E mail contact with the parant company or any thing or more to the point didnt want to.
They said they had given me vouchers after I told the first 3 "I DIDNT WANT VOUCHERS I WANTED MY MONEY RETURNED." to this day they refuse to give me the money they owe me and the vouchers dont work. Just like JETSTAR. My next step is to contact FAIR Go and see what they say. As far as I am concerned they stole my money. And they have not bothered to answer my e mails. I hope they go belly up.
