Tuesday 10th January - Yay I thought, finding these Fantastically cheap flights with Jetstar! Smiling and all bubbly inside I pick up the Phone. "Honey!! Guess what?? "What Babe? I found some SOOOO cheap flights AND the boys are able to fly on their own"!!!((although it was an hour or so travel to get there, it just didn't matter, I was able to get all 3 of us home at not toooooo bad a price))).
THE BEGINNING:::
Having been in and out of work for the last 4 months, it was tight and the idea of getting My Sons & I home to visit with Family, combined with (an Unveiling), Putting A Head Stone on My Parents at the end of January had nearly been a distant dream, I thought NOOOO, I may be the only one to go, But a long story short, hard work and a fantastic Man, we pulled it off. Well, You 2 can go early I said to My Sons, I found flights for tonight Friday 13 January, $186!! One way and proceeded to ring JetStar and see if My boys could travel alone (because I still have work, until the 23rd), NO PROBLEM mame, I was told!! They are not of a young age and Mam' do they go to Highschool?? "Yes, they do" .OK Mame do they have school ID? " Well one Son probably has, and I can work on getting the other son if necessary"...""No, No, No Mam' (With an accent, that i am not certain of its location), As long as you have their passports they will be FINE to travel on their own""!! "OMG REALLY""??!! :o) . "Are you SURE I don't need to fill any forms out? OR? Bring anything else besides their Passports? OR?? Do I need to show mine too? OR? You just let me know AND I will do what I need to :o) :o) "No, Regina! Do you mind if I call you Regina"? "That is absolutely fine!" **\0/** " SO, I ONLY need their passports and I will bring mine JUST incase, Their flight info and? nothing else right?? That is all I NEED to have with me??" "This is SO easy compared to what I have had to do with past kids alone flights!! It is GREAT, haha, one good thing I guess with them getting older right haha""!!
info is givin' and taken at this point, reservation/references are all booked and sent, No baggage necessary for this two, Here I am thinking, OMG this is SO easy, it's fantastic. ""Yes please, a booking for myself on the 23rd would be great""......It was to cost more, for me to book my own through them, so I stayed online and did it myself.
Tonight is Friday, I arrived at Coolangatta Airport, To be told, before he even opened their passports that they could'nt travel..they need their highschool ID's (I would have GOT THEM if I had known!!!!)WHY doesn't a passport work just as well?? It's the best ID to have in the world next to a Drivers Lic isn't it????......I was refunded all THREE of our flights INSTANTLY, back to my card, which will take atleast 4/5 days to get back and brought My VERY UPSET Children home, to a very surprised father (who had to work late) and friends!!! I have had a couple of hours to settle down, But the drive home was NASTY, I'd like to think of myself as a lady, but I tell ya there was NO lady sitting driving that car tonight. I did NOT verbally attack the reservations clerk..He did not take my booking, HOWEVER, he did ask? ""Where was the call from"" ??Was it from Manilla?? Did he have an accent?? WTF?? I did not realize I had to ask this type of question??!!! No matter WHERE in the world, ALL staff should be trained by the company bible! Purely and Simply it is Jetstar's H/R, Training People AND outside sourcing's fault, Pay Cheap wages, Get Cheap employee's!!! Undertrained, Underpaid.... and this is what happens!! At the end of the day, if the people taking our bookings don't know!! WHOSE fault is that?? THE PEOPLE THAT TRAIN AND PAY THEM!!!!!!!!!
I will get to the bottom of this, I've tried to call to be told they are only open during the week, NOW WHAT "BLEEP BLEEPN BLEEPN" AIRLINE, company DOESN'T have SOMEONE on call over the weekend and night periods????????????? FIRST TIME BOOKING -------LAST TIME EVER!! I have flown AIR NZ, QANTAS, PACIFIC BLUE, VIRGIN, EMIRATES (ARE FANTASTIC!! A little expensive though, unless you catch a deal) and others, I have lost track!! I don't know what to do now??!! I have only minimal cash in the bank, it is the weekend, I have cash on me...that I can't get to the bank on Monday.......Flight centers charge a fortune don't they?? Sorry to ramble, Usually I'm the type of person that just lets it go, rolls off my back......I don't like to harbour unnecessary stress, drama's, whatever..as it just wastes so much time and energy. But this has let My Babies down, I don't like them to be dissappointed...Never make promises we can't keep, Although, not my *fault* perhaps I was naive to believe it really could be so easy and simple. Our friend first thought, that they may have over booked the flight, as someone else was unable to get on as well.....Has anyone found this problem??
