Dear bookreadersctoch - what

Dear bookreadersctoch - what a load of crap! Go ahead blame the customer. The crap you are going on about could only exist in a government run facility in a Communist country.. Perhaps Jetstar could make up it's collective management mind - why advertise and sell tickets on a flight only to cancel it 3 hours before???

Ooops looks like Developer

Ooops looks like Developer removed bookreadersctoch's comment as I was responding.. never mind - you've missed nothing..

Three hours notice is not

Three hours notice is not considered adequate notice you have complete support of consumer law on this one. Threats work well, such as going to the media. This company hides behind terms and conditions that are flimsy in relation to consumer rights they rely on customer naivety.

Err.... Sometimes 3 hours is

Err.... Sometimes 3 hours is the only notice they have if a fault arises. You want them to predict a mechanical fault in advance of it happening?
I somehow get the impression (as with many stories on this website) we are only hearing one biased side of the story here. They always offer refunds for a cancelled flight.

@ Anonymous - No customer

@ Anonymous - No customer CARES what problem the company has to deal with. They don't have a spare plane? They don't have spare parts? This is a division of Australia's oldest and largest airline we are talking about isn't it? Frankly as a customer - we simply don't care. Just like we don't care if Hertz are out of cars when we make a booking, or the Novotel is out of rooms when we make a booking, or some restaurant is out of steaks when we order off the menu.. I am sure there are reasons.. mainly profit reasons.. they do the minimum to do the maximum profit at Jetstar.. but unless you can identify the ACTUAL REASONS THIS flight was cancelled- please keep your pathetic, condescending and customer blaming hypothesis to yourself. A decent company would be apologetic over inconveniencing what must be 200 or so customers - obviously not Jetstar. And do you REALLY THINK - that this person misunderstood Jetstar customer service when they said no refund?

@ Anonymous - if you want to

@ Anonymous - if you want to hear Jetstar's side of the story.. please write a letter of complaint to the company, have them email you a form letter with a reference number advising that it will be a MINIMUM of 15 working days (3+ weeks) before you get a response.. wait 2 or 3 or 4 months for the actual response.. then report back your findings on this post for us will you?

Never ever ever fly with

Never ever ever fly with shitty jetstar. We have a compassionate reason for a refund and a med certificate and they wont give a refund. A holes

Anonymous - Oh yeah, every

Anonymous - Oh yeah, every airlines keeps spare aircraft at every airport.... what a foolish thing to say. Maybe you're the exception, but most people would rather be on an aircraft that won't fall out of the sky.
And in my experience, they do apologise in the event of a cancellation. Again, so many of these stories are one sided. Everyone says "i'm going to the media" but guess what, the media rarely take notice because after investigating it with Jetstar, it is confirmed that they acted lawfully.

Jak Jones - they will give a

Jak Jones - they will give a refund if your doctor can specify its an illness that will prevent you from traveling long term. If its a short term illness, they will give you a credit.

They can't fix a plane with

They can't fix a plane with 3+ hours notice? I don't think so.. They cancelled the flight because they'd not sold enough seats.. more likely

Actually no three hours

Actually no three hours notice regardless of reason is not considered adequate notice. I have got a refund everytime by threatening legal avrion. Jetstar hide behind misinformation.
