No refund yet...

Made an online change to a flight through Jetstars website. They charged my credit card for the change and emailed me an updated itinerary of the changed flight. Got to the airport, no record of the change on their airport system. Had to pay cash for a totally new ticket to make my connecting flight. Advised to apply for a refund through customer care. Sent in detailed fax of the events. Two months later Jetstar called (17th Jan 2011) ackowledging the mistake and asked for my credit card details and to expect a refund within 15 business days. 2.5 months later (30th March 2011) still no refund...

The retainment of money especially when they have ackowledged guilt is illegal. They do it as it means they make more interest on the total funds (outgoings) the longer they can retain them. It is illegal and basically theft.

I've made a formal compalint through the ACCC's website complaint form.

If I dont get my money back I'll never step on another Jetstar flight again. I've just got back from Bali. Flew Air Asia on the way over (great service, excellent plane and leg room, also good meals). Flew Virgin on the way back. Jetstar ? well they're already out of pocket for messing me around.

just on a side note, have any

just on a side note, have any of you got the 15 day refund call asking for credit card details etc ? and if so did they ever deposit the money and hong long did it take ?

Jetstar owe me $194...they

Jetstar owe me $194...they have admitted to this. Yet 2.5 months later nothing. Since then I've flown on two other carriers at their expense, made a complaint to the ACCC, sent of a copy of my experience to the Sydney Morning Herald and told a family member to not book with Jetstar.

Do they honestly think that poor customer relations pays, are management that stupid ? Every time one of their staff walks over to the fax machine and picks up my twice weekly faxes requesting a call to find out what is going on it costs them money.

Unfortunately Gus, yes,

Unfortunately Gus, yes, management are that stupid. Don't expect a refund. They are laughing at you. The only thing you can do in this situation is tell as many people as you can NOT to fly Jet Star. Spread the word (warning) as far as you can, these crooks have to learn their place.

I'll get the money. Will post

I'll get the money. Will post back here when I do.

If you cant trust a big brand

If you cant trust a big brand company to genuinely refund your money within 15 days when they said they will how can you trust them with the safety of their planes ? Deliberately retaining money owed is a criminal offense and a representation of the integrity of management at every level.

With this level of accountability floating around it will only a matter of time in my opinion before a major accident happens as the hording of money is the first sign a company is rotten to the core.

From this experience and what I've read I definately will no be flying with them ever again.

lol, just saw the toughen up

lol, just saw the toughen up princess article. Just confirms everything in last post...death trap on all levels.

well just booked a return

well just booked a return trip to tasi from wa, that is now 4 domestic flights and 2 international flights Jetstar have missed out on for messing me around....wont ever touch them again. still waiting on my funds. eventually they will work out that lousy customer service and the illegal retention of customers (owed) money doesn't pay.

Well I got my money today, 3

Well I got my money today, 3 months later and after many many calls and faxes. But get this. They owed me $190.39. They only deposited $177. How they arrived at this number is beyond me but I'll take it. I doubt I'll ever fly with them again. Too much damage done to rebuild the bridge.

Jetstar called me the day

Jetstar called me the day after my funds were deposited. I questioned the $177. They said they only pay in the currency that the ticket was purchased in which is fair enough but a court of law would imo find them responsible for the loss of funds due to the unfavourable currency exchange over the 3 months ! it has taken to get my refund. They also emailed me two $100 vouchers so some redemption...
