Passport lost

when making a booking at the auckland airport the attendant took my paspport, asked me to step back so she could help someone else. then when I enquired about my passport told me "I can see what's on the counter" I insisted that one of the people she helped for an earlier flight must of taken my passport by mistake and that she could get an announcement made on that plane for passengers to check whether they have correct passports.

I had no joy from her and then thought well they've asked me to write my name and ALL my details on a large piece of paper which I had in my passport (which could not be missed due to size) that if anyone took it in error they could mail it to my enclosed address.

It will be a year in October and I am still waiting for a respponse to a request for compensation to replace my passport which will total $520 plus with the costs involved
