As predicted........ another Jetstar stuff up

Well it couldn't go smoothly could it, that would be too much to ask. After the cancelled flights and the near useless vouchers and having to purchase an additional night accomodation, here we go again. On checking in for our return trip from Singapore via Darwin to Cairns we were advised by check in staff that procedure had been changed and our luggage would not be checked through to its destination. We did however have boarding passes for the complete trip i.e Sing/Darwin (JQ62) and Darwin/Cairns. (JQ58) We explained that we had flown this route many times and this was unusual. We even pointed out that the baggage tags had "Cairns" on them. But no, we were to pick up bags in Darwin, fill out arrival forms, proceed through customs, go to Jetsrat (sorry typo) check our baggage in and board flight to Cairns.
So, landed in Darwin. Another passenger checked with flight crew about this procedure as they also had their doubts. Flight crew checks with ground staff, who in turn checked with some one in the alledgedly know(if such a person exists, I have my doubts) It is confirmed, clear customs proceed to baggage area. After a 20 minute wait and baggage not arriving it became apparent that about 25 Cairns destined passengers were all given the incorrect information. We approached customs staff when we heard the announcement that there was only 15 muinutes left before closure of the Cairns bound flight. Customs said it was not their problem. Finally an unfortunate Jetshit (another typo) staff member wanders by. We explained our situation. Keep in mind we have already gone through the customs counters and presented our passports. A customs member noted our names off our passports on a scrap piece of paper( high tech). We handed back our declaration cards. We were taken through a back lift to another scanner where we waited for an operator. Scanner had been turned off, so our carry on bags were searched. At this point some of our group were relieved (read stolen) of their "sealed" Singapore Duty Free items. Unbeliveable. One young lady was close to tears, another raising her voice asking to keep her purchases, but to no avail. Another passenger had purchased duty free in the Darwin airport and they initially refused to let him take it with him. Finally they offered him a refund and then thought better of it and transfered it to the transit lounge for him. He was lucky.
Finally after to-ing and froing in and out of customs, being searched and researched, scanned and waiting for baggage that did not arrive, we made it to the transit area which is where we should have been in the first place.
Why am I not surprised at this appalling lack of organisation
Jetstar have absolutely no regard for their passengers and make no apology for this.
DONT FLY JETSTAR
Yes, on this occasion the baggage did arrive in Cairns.

On the 27 june 2012, I was booked to fly from Nadi(Fiji) to sydney, when i arrived at Nadi check in, they told me I cannot fly to Sydney, as I did not have a transit visa. The check in counter refused to help me and said I must go to the embassy in SUVA, to get a visa. NOW THIS IS NONSENSE, the Airport could of helped and issued a Visa on Arrival in Sydney.
The people in Australia claim to be smart but are ASSHOLES, JET STAR AIRLINES the worst in the world, they should close down, i dont know how Qantas can buy shares in such an incompetant airline.

On my way from Sydney to Fiji, my luggage was lost, no compensation was made, when I skyped jetstar they said i should buy the basic necessities, and they will compensate me in Sydney. When I was in Sydney in transit, the information desk said their offices are on the outside. I tried calling them and it kept on saying wait, i was not compensated (cost of 100 fijian Dollars).
further i could not fly to sydney on Jetstar, so i booked on New Zealand air to new Zealand and than qantas to sydney. Please if my ticket money can be retuned together with my one hundere dollars , i will be grateful.
I will never recommend this airline to anyone, Cheap but rubbish, concerned traveller. L.james

You realize this is not an official jetstar site?

I posted my story of a recent

I posted my story of a recent flight from Singapore to Darwin JQ 62 last week i put it on the Facebook page, i just read Janes story as i said these flights Singapore to Darwin and return are a disgrace and i think someone from a goverment authority needs to look at this. The reason why no one knows whats going on is because these people don't work for Jetstar they are contractors!!!!!!!!!. The crew out of Singapore except for the pilots work for a contracting company and they haven't get a clue and a lot of them have very poor english skills, the check in staff in Darwin work for a contracting company. I noticed that once terrible airline Tiger is posting its on time perfomance on it web site, i would love to see what the perfomance for this leg is.
Okay so you may not know this but there is another airline Silk Air fly from Darwin to Singapore and return the price isn't to bad and the reviews i have read are good.I will be giving them a go next time as i am so sick of the shithouse customer service from a shithouse airline.
