In September 2010 I booked some Jetstar flights. During one booking the process failed and I did not received a booking confirmation (one turned up three days later). I booked again.
After a few days I realised I had been charged twice and contacted them for a refund. Every week I call to see where my $1000 is and every week I am promised it within a few days. Now its mid January 2011. All I can do is keep calling, they have no office in Perth.
Will never use them again.

1) Maybe the $1000 fare was because Joanne booked multiple seats in one booking? Maybe 4 or so people? Could this be possible? And maybe $1000 is a round number- people sometimes round up or down.. possible?
2) Is it that people who fly Jetstar don't have more than $1000 to their name? Is this really some valid, intelligent argument?
3) Maybe Joanne should take ownership of her credit card - but maybe also Jetstar should take ownership of their faulty website booking system when it fails?
Actually I believe Really? and Anonymous are Jetstar employees- why else would they comment on this website.. and if the Jetstar employee mantra is to blame and ridicule the customer everytime Jetstar provides poor service.. heaven help the Australian tourism industry.
And Joanne- yes if you contact the card company maybe they can get your money back for you.

same thing happened to me, on boxing day 2010 got a phone call my nephew was rushed to hospital as he was dying, got on the internet and tried to book a flight to fly to newcastle, internet kept asking me for a code before i could confirm the flight booking, no code came up so i gave up and went thru virgin (not happy with them either the prices they charge) anyway looked at my emails and a booking had gone thru for jetstar rung them told them the situation as far as i was concerned i had to cancel as i couldnt give them a date to fly back, sorry to say that my 12 year old nephew couldnt let me know when he was ready to pass away, he passed away 01/1/11, so jetstar are cruel

I can't keep up the the stupid comments lately. I can't spend my day checking the comments on this site. I made this site to help people make informed decisions on whether they should fly Jetstar but lately it seems to turning into a race riot on here.

Who ever wrote this post is a retard. I booked a flight through Jetstar recently and did not recieve a booking confirmation. They say it should take no longer than 24hrs. I did not receive one. Instead of rebooking like this imbosile I rang up Jetstar and asked if my booking had gone through. They collected the details of the flight I had booked and said it had gone through. They sent me another itenerary which was successful. It is shamful to be Australian with all these clueless monkeys running around our airports blaming Jetstar for their stupidity. Phil you really annoy me because you are so bitter and synical of Jetstar. How about a hobby? Lets think of something you might like.

Who is the question aimed at? Personally I've flown with Tiger only once, HCMC to Perth, the experience was perfectly OK. They had a cheeky check-in baggage fee for each sector that increased the price- but that's the sort of caper budget airlines seem to do. I've not used them enough to make any further comments. Air Asia fly the journeys I tend to use.. and I like them. Even when Bangkok airport experienced all the trouble- Air Asia were helpful and compliant dealing with the backlog.

On February 12th 2010 Brucie Buchanan announced Jetstar customer service charter item8 states "you can have confidence in how quickly we will return your money" next time you call the goons remind them of that charter. one noticeable thing missing from the charter though is it does not once mention courtesy. In also pointed out that should any staff breach the charter they would not be punished. some charter eh.....how some of todays business leaders manage to sleep puzzles me.

Just to follow up, I finally got my refund last week. Not sure if it was this post, the letters or the phone calls but either way I am pleased but probably won't use JetStar again anyway.

That bit about no punishment for breaching the charter was stated in the article that accompanied the announcement of the charter by whoever was ceo at the time. i remember noticing it in an article in one of the papers and assumed that the unions might have had something to do with it. after reading a number of the posts here im now not sure if the unions did i am wondering if its one of perhaps the weird things people mention about jetstar.
