Thieves I say!! Bloody thieves!!

Never again Jetstar. After a particularly tough year we went to watch our young son March out of Kapooka and spend a couple of days in Melbourne with our daughter. We got a short 9 hours with our son on Saturday which you rudely interrupted with a text saving yr flight is cancelled (8/12) the next available flight is the 16th...!!!! WHAT THE ?!?!?!! All 3 of us travelling have lives. We booked the flights and planned according to your timetable. Myself and husband need to get back to work and our daughter is graduating on the 14th so you can see the 16th is bullshit. And you robbed me of 2 hours with my son also. 5 family members ultimately travelled with jetstar Perth to Melbourne for this, that's 5 people who have all be charged with telling 10 different people to "NEVER FLY JETSTAR". You're welcome we will do what we can to assist you , no passengers means you won't have to piss more people off....

These people at Jetstar just don't get the power of the people. I despair at your situation and hope it turned out ok but having posted on this site myself, I'm also doing everything I can to tell everyone I know NOT to fly Jetstar. Eventually we will prevail and their service will either improve or they will start onto see a dramatic decline in their business. Keep posting.

How the ffffffff can they do that... how can they expect anyone to book with them if you run the risk of this happening !!!! Surely this is not lagal .. they make Tiger look like Emirates

Thanks for your comments. They have messed with the wrong duck this time... We re home a little later today when I believe a call to a media outlet may be on. I've screen shot a few days where they have cancelled a heap of flights .

My son and daughter were due

My son and daughter were due to fly out of Melbourne to Sydney at 9.30 am yesterday (8/12/2015) to attend their grandmothers funeral at 3.30pm. My daughter got a text at 7.30am to say the flight was cancelled due to "engineering problems" (rather than being up front and say not enough seats sold). There we 3 more flights that could have transferred them to and got them there in time but each request for assistance was met with a bold NO! No compassion, no empathy and no consideration of trying to find a way to get them there. The only other available flights were Virgin for almost $900 one way or Qantas at $389 but both got in at a time which made it too risky to get them from the airport to Gosford where the funeral was being held in time for the funeral. Then they had the hide to say the money for the tickets would not be refunded for 15 days.
And one final comment for Jetstar. You are not a cheap carrier. Many of your fares are the same as Qantas and Virgin but these two don't rip you off for checked in bags or seat selection.
Never again!!

Well today on the back of my brief Facebook rant, I get a call from Jason at Jetstar who emphatically assures me that Jetstar DO NOT cancel flight due to poor seat sales and the reason behind our cancellation was infact scheduled safety maintenance.... Which I'm sure prompts us to all ask the same question "umm wouldn't you know about planned maintenance earlier or just many be have a "spare" plane to cover this maintenance for seats you have sold, you know like I would book the loan car when I get my car serviced........ Just a thought.....anyway their solution was a $50 non transferable 6month expiry voucher ... Yes very compensation.... NOT
