Jest-star force you to buy insurance.

Jest-star make $36 cheap airfares then force you take out insurance because they claim 'their site is having technical difficulties'
What a joke and a rip-off. After spending an hour trying to fix this problem including talking to their custome (lack of)service.
At $100 per hour it has cost me money to work out their crap. It is deliberate of course. Otherwise they would have waived the phone booking charge, wouldn't they? I had a similar (but different) problem earlier this year and couldn't use their cheap deal offer. Looks like I'll never fly Jest-star! A good omen n'est-ce...

Customer Service is shocking!! Here are the letter I have sent one to the CEO none of which got the matter resolved!!

Dear Jetstar Customer Relations,

I am writing to now make an official complaint regarding the way that I have been treated, spoken too, messed about, lied too and had costing made to me in an unacceptable way by your airline that advertises as ‘an airline that likes to save you money’.

LOST BAG

My bag was lost/stolen on the 18th Feb. it was checked in and tagged, so its in the system but who knows where!
It took me 3 weeks to get an address where i could put in a claim for the bag. I sent a claim form to GPO Box 4713 Melb,Vic, as instructed,apparently that form was never recieved.
After ringing Jetstar a few more times,we recieved another claim form via email,which we faxed back on the 26th march.

Cancellation and left high and dry

My nightmare started in Singapore. My flight to Perth was delayed for several hours and finally took off at past 8pm on the 07th of Feb 2010. We arrived at way past 2am on the 08th. I thought that was bad experience as this was my first time on Jetstar. So I put it out of my mind.
On the 20th Feb Jetstar rings me up at 1pm and tells me that my flight JQ109 to Singapore was cancelled due to a mechanical fault. Flight with children a bit fraught

Outbound flight Melbourne/KL/Bangkok with Air Asia X was reasonably pleasant, cabin staff made an effort to welcome us and were delightful in playing with our 1- and 2-year old children and chatting with us about this and that. Return journey Bangkok/Melbourne with Jetstar not so pleasant, the cabin staff were quite cold to us and did not make us feel welcomed at all. Unfortunately my kids were sick and the 1-year old vomited in the bassinet and a bit on the seats/floor, I had to clean it all up myself and return to the crew area several times to ask for wet towels, plastic bags etc......

I am writting to complain regarding an online transaction i did and apparently there was some technical problem with the website and i was charged twice by Jet star. Upon realizing that I was charged twice I contacted Jet star staff immediately Mr Jeremy he inform me that it was best if we cancel both booking and I make another booking and later pay for my fare at the airport. He later then told me he will cancel both the transaction and I should contact the bank. I contacted my bank and was told that they need a simple confirmation in form of email or fax...

@ Standards for Baggage

On the 21st February 10 of us travel to Victoria for a weeks golf. We all had golf clubs.
Departing Birsbane was efficent, helpful and coutreous.
However on the return from Avalon it was different.
I was charged an extra $50 for excess - 5kgs over. Another mate was charged $50 - he was 6 kgs over and another was charged $80 he ws 8 kgs over.
Another was 2.5kgs over and after he complained no excess charged was made.
I spoke to a Jackie and her answer " Just goes to show that my girls are doing their job "

Jetstar left me stranded on an Island

This is my Jetstar horror story and the letter I sent to them, they replied to the office of fair trading stating they were in their rights of section 10.01, and believed their staff over myself and 2 family members and a family friend.I might add they refused to veiw the ctv footage or compensate me the 427 for my virgin ticket also I lost my fare back on the jetstar flight. Letter as follows:-

Pathetic jetstar management and contingency plans

I had been planning a trip to go and visit my girlfriends home town near Hiroshima for about a year. I thought I would fly the cheapest airline and Jetstar was the obvious choice, I even splurged a bit and paid for starclass to japan but economy back (starclass was not really worth it unless you have over 20kg of baggage). The flight to Japan went smoothly but problems occurred on the flight back.
