Pathetic service where lies involved 29/07/2023

I flew from Gold Coast to Perth. There was a layover of 5 hours in Sydney. They did not specify anywhere to us that we will have to check out and check in again luggage in Sydney after 4 hours for the flight to Perth. They just told us this at Gold Coast airport that they are short of staff.

Over eager hand luggage fine.

So I left my house this morning with my hand luggage below 7kgs. As it was brisk morning, I had heavy jacket on. Before my connecting flight I’m Sydney, I put my jacket in my hand luggage. While waiting for flight an JS staff member trollies this portable scale around and fined me for exceeding the 7kg rule. Explaining was useless and me offering to check it in was also unacceptable. They want their money!!!! Disgusted I’ll never use them again..

Last minute cancellations

Had a flight booked at 2:55pm on Monday July 27 and returning Fri July 8.
First Jetstar cancel my July 8 flight... ok, that's alright, they gave me a week warning before I left and I was able to reschedule to fly back on a Saturday instead.
Then... on the morning of my flight on July 27 at 1:50am, I get a text that this flight has also been cancelled. I have tours booked for the Tuesday through the rest of the week, but apparently the earliest they can get me there is Wednesday!!!!

Both flights were cancelled for "operational reasons", which tells me nothing but sounds...

Checked Baggage

I booked online through Qantas and was redirected to Jetstar. I paid for checked in baggage as it appeared I only was entitled to 7kg carry on. When my flight itinerary came through it was from Qantas which showed it
included 20 kg of checked in baggage. I contacted Jetstar and asked for a refund or a voucher for meals and was offered neither. I was told no refunds were available on baggage. Not impressed!!

Disability - Issues

I was horrified to read about the recent issue for a lady in Perth boarding a flight to go to Adelaide. Jetstar needs to get its act together to treat people fairly. They knew before the lady boarded that she was blind and deaf. To humiliate her at the airport and say she couldn’t board because she couldn’t read or hear safety card instructions.

Jetstar has to be the worst airline in the world . Get your act together and do the right thing . Improve your police to accommodate all people with disabilities.

Engineering issues cancelled Jetstar flight fron Bali to Perth on March 8,2019

Our flight JQ117 was cancelled on March 8,2019 after the Nyepi Hindu New Year. Our internet were down and we have to stayed all day in hotel due to the Nyepi silent period. When we arrived at the BALI airport, we found out the flight was cancelled. There was no Jetstar flight available until Sunday(10/3/19). We have to rebook by paid $600AU for Air asia flight.

App issued us delayed Boarding Pass = Missed Flight!

Checked in early for Sydney-Perth flight via the Jetstar App. Notified of a 45 minute delay and received Boarding Passes with a boarding time that reflected the delay. We presented at the bag drop 1 hour prior to 'our scheduled departure time' to be told that the service was closed and consequently we missed our flight - We later found out that there was in fact no flight delay despite our Jetstar issued boarding passes indicating otherwise. Jetstar cancelled my ticket without any notification

I booked the ticket on 20 November, everything is gone through, I had a ticket with booking number. On 23 Nov, I again paid for the seat booking. I received an email to confirm my ticket with a seat located.

On the 26th November, I couldn't checked my flight info. I chat with Jetstar customer care, they told me my ticket is cancelled. NO NOTIFICATION, NO CONTACT AT ALL.

WHAT A FUCKING HELL THEY DID TO ME?

Long Long Day

Planned and paid for Jetstar flights to Perth from Melbourne back in January 2017, all good.
Move onto early September had to change one ticket to fly back at later date, upshot forfeit original ticket had to buy new ticket to come back, okay can understand it was a cheap ticket to begin with. They Forgot The Entire Plane's Luggage !!!

Jetstar flight JQ972 from Melb to Perth 29.7.17 - Upon arrival in Perth / waiting at the baggage carousel - All the passengers of this flight were informed that heir luggage had been left in Melbourne !! not one or 2 bags but every single passengers bags! we were directed to the customer service desk where ( 1 ) single Jetstaff representative was assigned to explain to 200+ passengers that our baggage had been left in Melbourne ( get this - due to poor weather conditions ! ) and they would not arrive in Perth for at least another 24 hours. we were each given a form to fill out describing...

I was supposed to fly with Jetstar on a direct (3hr) flight from Bali to Perth at 9.00 in the morning on February 5. Upon arrival at 4 AM (I like to be early) I noticed my flight was not on the board.
After calling Jetstar I was informed that my flight had been canceled. They offered me 2 alternative flights (with a disconnect in between) or a refund. The alternative flights were the next day either 1 AM or 10:50 am and both with a transfer which would make it a 13-15 hrs flight.
I found that unacceptable and all I was left with was a refund, which I haven't received until...

Lasting Memorys

Reading other complaints mine pails into insignificance. The only thing that annoys me is this is a repeatable issue. JQ982, Gold Coast to Perth, depart 19:20/20:00. During summer on the far north coast of NSW and the Gold Coast humid days are followed by intense thunder storms, it borders on tropical downpours. Lose Luggage and won't compensate - don't fly Jetstar!

On July 3rd my family (2 adults and 4 children) took Jetstar (or should that be half star) flight from Sydney to Perth. Note a direct flight nothing too complicated. At the other end, at midnight, only 4 of our 5 bags came off the carousel. My bag was missing. We reported it straight away and were told it was probably just delayed. So here I am in Perth on holidays with only the clothes on my back being told that I can spend $40 on emergency expenses – it is 4 degrees! OMG, I am an idiot!

You would think that after swearing off Nostar in 2014 that I would have leant my lesson. I didn't! I'm at the Coolangatta airport waiting for a flight to Perth. 7:20pm departure, oops the plane delayed, 7:50, oops the plane delayed (technical issue, just love that one) 9:00pm. We have 90 minutes and yes, I expect another delay. I promise that this time, I have leant my lesson.

Ripped off by Jetstar

Booked a flight for my sister in law to come to Australia and then a change in her circumstances mean that her visa was cancelled. Despite over 6 weeks notice Jetstar is unwilling to give any refund on the purchase (we would have settled for a partial credit or voucher to use off a future flight). Now they will simply resell the seat to another patron and double their money. Good for them, terrible for the customer.

As a comparison Tiger Airways were operating the connecting flights and they had no issue providing a full refund when asked, no hassle or push back whatsoever. You know...

mon 28 return flight to perth cancelled

I got a txt from Jetstar today to tell me my return flight to perth from melb after xmas had been cancelled so I rang them and they put me on a later QUANTAS flight back to perth, 08.30am --it seems a bit weird that I was flying to melb with Jetstar then I got put on a quatas flight at a earlier time 0.600am --coming back I was booked on a Jetstar flite then I was rebooked on a quantas flight to come back to perth --I SEE A PATTERN HERE

Thieves I say!! Bloody thieves!!

Never again Jetstar. After a particularly tough year we went to watch our young son March out of Kapooka and spend a couple of days in Melbourne with our daughter. We got a short 9 hours with our son on Saturday which you rudely interrupted with a text saving yr flight is cancelled (8/12) the next available flight is the 16th...!!!! WHAT THE ?!?!?!! All 3 of us travelling have lives. We booked the flights and planned according to your timetable. Engineering Requirement = We Don't Care

Jetstar cancell our outward bound flight with "Operational Procedure" earlier this week and today after finally arriving in Melbourne at 6;00AM, they cancell our return flights for Sunday afternoon.

Big hearted Jetstar cannot fly us home till Thursday! What a joke! What a fail as a company. Two booked flights.... Two cancelled flights. That would be a 100% failure rate when I went to school.

We are now left with no alternative than to pay nearly $2,800 for 3 one way tickets with another carrier.. Out of pocket again! The biggest loser is.... ME!

Threatening behaviour by Jetstar ground and on-board staff

This was my first and LAST travel by Jetstar. Being taller, and more broad-shouldered than average person, (genetics, not obesity). Not to inconvenience other passengers, I paid for an aisle seat from Perth to Sydney (Qantas), Sydney to the Sunshine Coast and return from the Sunshine Coast via Melbourne, to Perth (Jetstar) . The outward journey was no problem.
On the return flight from the Sunshine Coast to Melbourne (Jetstar), even though I kept my legs within the seat area, a staff member slammed, yes slammed, the service trolley into my right knee. She apologised profusely and...

The savings aren't worth it

Caught flight from Koh Samui to Singapore with a different airline. Samui flight was delayed by 20 minutes making transit transfer in Singapore to flight to Perth @ 17.55 tight but possible. I rebooked the flight to the 2 am flight because I was worried that we would not make it - the website stopped working 3 times - I didn't even know if it worked or not. Arrived Singapore airport and asked at Transit C if we could make the earlier flight as we have an 11 month old baby who was very tired and upset. They said, 'No, not possible' - no effort was made at all to assist or enquire. Arrived...

Singapore to perth delayed 11 hours due to weather, however qantas flight leaving at the same time still went.

We were told that they fly a different route, which is kind of hard to believe being direct singapore to perth!

No accommodation provided just a meal voucher to the worst food outlet at changi.

Staff rude and had no answers so we went and updated customers In the line because their staff were happy to hide behind the counter and let everyone come to them for answers.

Budget airline we understand. No food, no entertainment and poor quality seats but...

Bali To Perth Night Flight Screw Around Takes The Cake!

My partner and I were booked and waiting for the 2:30am flight to Perth from Denpasar, Bali. 2:30 came and went. With no notices, announcements,nothing.
Then we were notified it was delayed until 4am something. Then we were told around 3:30 it was cancelled.
We then had to wait in queues until 5:15am to get rebooked on alternate flights.
Some would go Bali-Brisbane-Perth. At 10:30pm. With a 2hr stop over in a Brissie. Arriving in Perth at 11:45am Saturday morning. Over 30hrs after our original arrival time.

Class action lawsuit fundraiser

Hi guys,

after I expedience a nightmare trip and find this website. I can see I am not alone and its about time to stop this. Consumers have rights and there a kicked by Jetstar over and over again.

Therefor I propose a class action lawsuit and like to see with this post if there are more guys out there to would support this action. It there is a great response I will start a class action lawsuit fundraiser so force Jetstar the change there behavior.
