Jetstar Complaints

No soft drinks and beer onboard

Flight 3K538 Fri 19 Oct 2012

I was about to purchase a few cans of beer for 7 SGD from the in-flight menu to slake my thirst but a crew member advised that they have already ran out of beer (servicing row 4, just in 10 min after a take-off). In a while I went back to the crew and ask to sell me a can of any soda, but the answer was that service has been seized.

In fact above flight did not have beverages loaded on-board. Nonsense!

JQ - How (non)compassionate are you!

We have just been advised that the date of our 6yo daughters surgery in Melbourne has just been moved from Jan2013 to Nov2012 due to the medical treatment of her surgeon.
On speaking with the call centre about changing the date of our flights, I was advised that the cost to do so was $700!! I understand that there would be a change in the fare price, but the additional $420 in fees is ridiculous - especially when the original flights cost $501
The cost of the surgery is big enough, particularly when we have to travel to Melbourne to get treatment - not exactly pleasurable,...

Seizure and collapse in row 3

Yesterday on the 3pm flight a woman started shrieking as her elderly mother had a seizure and then collapsed. The crew were alerted and the comatose lady was lifted into the aisle where a doctor on board gave CPR and treated her. The doctor was great. The staff alerted the emergency services in Melbourne who met the plane. The passengers around the unfortunate lady were very supportive. I am pleased to report that the Jetstar staff were amazing. They had the lady comfortable in no time. Administered oxygen, and genally remained calm, in control, supportive and communicative. I think your...

No help from call centre

I was trying to book a flight on my IPad but the website wouldn't show the destinations drop down list. I had to ring the call centre to see what was wrong and they said to use a pc as browser on iPad sometimes didn't work. I said don't have access to a pc so they said ok we'll book you for a $50 fee. This is not way out there as a complaint but couldn't they just once say ok it's not your fault and will take just a few minutes to fix without trying to screw you at every possible opportunity?

Also, my wife and I travel light and only need one suitcase normally but I couldn't find...

Change of name charges are a joke

Hi, we're generally satisfied with Jetstar's service (ie you get what you pay for), however I was a little taken aback when I was told that to transfer a flight in my name to my daughters name (Melb>Tokyo) I would have to pay not only a transfer fee of $50 (I was expecting this) but also pay the difference between the price of the airfare I booked and the current price (ie today's pricing). So an additional $100 to transfer the flights when Gold Coast > Narita is currently selling for $229 a day or two before our scheduled flights. Seems really rough. What do others think?

Purchased upgrade to Business - flew in economy and now won't offer refund!

I was pressured into purchasing an upgrade to Business class on a recent flight home to Sydney from Honolulu by a Jetstar representative who called me 3 times pressuring me. I decided to go ahead with it for myself and my partner. When we showed up at Honolulu airport expecting to fly home with Business class which cost an additinal $658 we were told at the counter at time of checking in that the Jetstar plane had broken down and will now fly Qantas, however it had 70 less seats then the original which meant there was no room for us in business and we have to go back to economy. I was...

Never again!!Double cancellation within a 10 days stay in Bali

My husband and I booked a return flight Perth-Bali from 30th of september to 12th of october. We didn't know jetstar was going to spoil all the fun of these supposed to be relaxing holidays!
On the 30th when we arrived at the airport (and not before so that you are sure to be uncomfortable waiting at the airport) our flight was mentioned as delayed.... for the next day 4.05 pm. We had then to find a room in Perth which is really not a piece of cake (as thy reimburse only 150 AUD for the hotel and no hotel is so cheap in Perth and have not enough hotels for everybody!).
As it...

Never ever again!!

First of all, the flight was 9:15 am and DELAYED to 12. So at 12pm we boarded the tiny a Jetstar aircraft and were already quite stressed. After we arrived everything was fine. So when it was time for return the trouble started. So when we arrived in the tiny airport, we tried to check but the person said we were to late and we argued about 30- 40mins. So we had no choice and ha emergency stuff to do in Auckland.we could even hear the audio said last call for jetstar to Auckland jq bla bla bla. We changed it to tomorrow 2pm and the person told us to come earlier and promised us the flight...

Left stranded half way by Jetstar acting Immigration

My annual holiday with my 8yo son turned into nightmare on day 1 with Jetstar. We were to travel from Sydney to Manila. I provided our travel documents at Sydney airport and was told by a Jetstar representative that we would have a connecting flight 3.15am in Darwin airport.
Upon our arrival at Darwin airport we were refused boarding by a Jetstar representative who demanded a photocopy of our flight itinery for our departure flight due in 2 weeks time from the Philippines. I had a digital copy on my i phone and a back up copy on disk. I was told there was no facility at the airport...

High & Dry

http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2012/10/10/314201_travel.html

DARWIN-bound passengers were stranded in The Philippines for nearly three days after the cancellation of four Jetstar flights in a row.

Last night, the airline would only say the ongoing delays were caused by "operational requirements''.

Two JQ79 flights failed to leave Darwin for Manila at 3.15am on Saturday and Monday.

.................

Charged $320 + Flight Delay + Inconsistent "Rules"

We are left with the most unpleasant taste in our mouth both flying into and out of Australia because of Jet Star inconsistent baggage "rules". I ended up paying an EXTRA $320 in total for a $400 flight! That is almost doubling my air fares! Inconsiderate airline that preys on vulnerable travelers stuck in situations where they have not much choice but to pay the exorbitant fees "in order" to be "allowed" to get on a flight that they have already purchased! NEVER FLY JetStar again in our lives. And neither will our friends and family. No thank you. Oh... and on top of all the crap...

Woman asked if she was pregnant!

You have probably already seen this - but I thought I would bring it to your attention anyway...

A woman who was asked by a Jetstar flight attendant for a medical certificate to fly because he wrongly thought she was pregnant says she was "absolutely humiliated" by the mistake.

One of the most insulting things to ask a woman!!

I tried to post this on...

Discrimination

After booking business class seat months ago to Honolulu with a departure date tomorrow, was rung by jetstR today to be informed that they have over booked, this was a lie, was then told computer glitch, were we bumped off because we have a young child,?? Am guessing this is the case, am after others that this may have happened to to see if some sort of class action can be taken

PRICING SCAM

Logged onto Webjet yesterday to see if my suspicions were correct, and that Jetstar is a cash making cow, all be it, just my opinion on their advertising standards and compliance.

FIRST
I picked 2 random dates for the purpose of comparing 'Booking in Advance' and possibly getting a better deal Vs 'Booking something last minute' and having a higher cost.

For Booking in Advance, I chose a January 2013 date, one flight from Jetstar and another from Virgin. Both on the same day, from Melbourne to Sydney (fairly normal route) with similar take off times, about 2 hrs apart...

NEVER AGAIN

Yet again - Jet Star is running late. Not just a few minutes like most other airlines but over 3 hours. This is about the 5th time we have flown Jet Star in the last 12 months and it is the 4th time that the flight has been significantly delayed or cancelled. I WILL NEVER FLY THIS AIRLINE AGAIN. I have no idea how they manage to stay in business. SHAME ON YOU JETSTAR, and your customer service is the worst I have experienced in any organisation.

Laaaaate agaaaain

I am sue's husband and I fly most weekends to Phuket. If on a weekend visit having a flight arrive at 11 pm or later simply takes away the weekend. So here I am again giving Jetstar another go and of course they are late. 1.5 hrs late. At least it's better than 3 hrs late a few times back. It may be the weather...except that Sue +1 just left on the Tiger flight to Phuket. Which left on time...90% on time!
The best thing is how quickly they tell you...about 40 minutes before it was supposed to leave on that 3 hr job.

Ah well....last time I just cancelled my Jetstar bookings and...

Managing booking

I booked a business ticket from Auckland to Ho Chi Minh city. Jetstar has changed my flight schedule 1 month ago and now I need to change my flight time by myself. However, they said that my flight time has changed and I cannot do the second time.

NO REFUND on Airport Taxes, Baggage and seat allocations !

This is the message i left on Jetstars FB wall today:

Hello everyone thinking of booking Jetstar Internationally..... DONT DO IT !

I dont usually write massive complaints on company walls however I am so annoyed !

I booked a sale fare to with Jetstar for 3 x people from Perth to Bali for February 2013.
...
They were $135 return + baggage and seats etc (all up around $200 return)

I, like many people, love a good cheap flight and knew that if i had to cancel for some reason that I wouldnt get all my fare back.....

I DID however expect that I...

So glad you got a good laugh - at my expense

Jetstar!
Departing Cairns airport I check into Jetstar with one bag of 24kg and carryon of 6kg. The ticket allows for 20kg hold luggage and 10kg cabin baggage
The checkin person says, "That will be 4kg excess."
I reply, "But I have 30kg allowance"
"No you don't"
"Yes I have.", snappily, "20kg plus 10kg, yes??"
"No" responds Ms Jetstar, "That's 4kg excess or repack your bags"
Yeah, fine. I repack the bags, estimating the divine numerical absolutes 10 and 20. Then back to the end of queue.
Eventually, back at the checkin counter, pointing at...

Double standard with carry on luggage

I was flying to Sydney with other friends during school holiday. Everything is fine until the stuff told us we are unable to boarding cause we have too much carry on luggage, but actually, each of us are just have 1 lugguge + 1 hand bag and the total weight are below 7kg, other paper bag are the gifts we bought at Sydney and airport, even we told the staff our total carry on lugguage are not over 7kg, they still ask us stuff all the gifts into our luggage or we can THROW ALL THE GIFT INTO GARBAGE BIN...

So we told the girl who are working at boarding gate the lady who process the...

Jetstar forgets daylight saving

Flights late after Jetstar forgets daylight savings,
Four Jetstar flights between Wellington and Auckland were delayed because the airline forgot about daylight savings.

The 8.15am flight out of the capital on Sunday was about an hour late while crew waited for the plane to arrive from Cairns.

I just wanna go hooooome!

I primarily came to NZ to drop my youngest off to her Father for a week. But have taken her to see other people for the week before too. So we've been here 2 weeks. Had a flight booked home for 7am today. They tell me yesterday afternoon that there's a 10 hour delay due to "operational issues". However, the 5pm flight would mean I'd arrive too late to get home (considering customs, etc) as I'm relying on public transport to get us home to Brisbane, and am new enough in Queensland that I don't know anyone who can pick us up. I have no money right now (as I didn't need to??? and NZ has...

Cancelled Flight, Half a refund. Poor excuse for an airline.

Was flying with Jet star last year on my last holiday over to QLD/NSW to visit friends and relatives. I was meant to be flying to the Brisbane and staying there for a week, flying to Sydney (from Brisbane) for 3 days then back to Brisbane for another 2 days before flying back to Perth.

Well... the start of my holidays started okay, had no problems from Perth to Brisbane.

The day I was meant to be flying to Sydney, my friend from Sydney calls me telling me how dissapointed she was that she wasn't going to be seeing me. I had no idea what she was going on about until she told...
