Jetstar really need to take a long hard look at themselves. They have no idea what customer service is. I am from ChCh and had some flights booked for in late Feb (booked prior to EQ) in which we were unable to travel due to circumstances beyond our control. I phoned up a couple of times as I was not satisfied with the options I was getting. I finally got hold of a customer service rep who said they would give me a full refund and that it would be credited to my credit card. Never got my statement for a flight that JETSTAR cancelled.

I was due to fly from Sydney to Osaka and transit at cairns on the 3/02/11 HOWEVER, im not saying its jetstars fault Cyclone Yasi hit. The news and all the weather reports already said that cairns airport would be closed the night before and on the day early in the week leading up to my flight. Refunds for Japan!!!!

how bloody annoying

I know of 3 people - one travelling to japan in april the others on may 10th and may 20th...ALL called jetstar and were given refunds...

im travelling on the 14th and after speaking to maybe 5 operators and one supervisor...they would not grant me a refund.

i was as vocal as i could be...doesn't make sense to give other people refunds (esp those travelling after the April 18th deadline as noted on their website) and not me?

are the operators simply telling these people that a refund will be given just to get them off the phone?

Never try to change your booking..

My partner and I booked a flight from Sydney to Melbourne over the phone.something I will never do again..however we finally got sorted only to find that my partners name was spelt wrong . This was fixed quiclkly . Then a circumstance occured that meant we had to change our flight date. According to the Fare Rules included in the flight comfirmation it clearly states that changes can be made . Now all we wanted to do was change the date by one month.. same flight No ,same destination and same time. We found like so many others it seems that a $50 EACH non-refundable charge is applicable ....

Jetstar treating Japan's earthquake and tsunami as a minor inconvenience

Jetstar doesnt consider yesterdays earthquake and tsunami in Japan to be serious. Customers flying to Tokyo only have the option to reschedule their flight within the next two week period. It will take Japan more than two weeks to recover and it is very likely there will be many after shocks during the next month. Jetstar does not value the lives of its customers. There should be a more flexible options for customers flying to Japn, as was offered for flights to Brisbane during the floods and Christchurch during their earthquake. Jetstar Staff Are A Bunch of Disrespectful, Wanky Idiots!!!

We had to fly to Sydney for a day on the 9th March .. booked 6am flight and return flight was about 10pm.. When we got to the airport, we tried to check in but to our horror we had booked the flight for 9th of May instead of 9th of Mar ... admittedly, that was a stupid mistake.. Regardless, it should be quite obvious that it was a GENUINE mistake!

They said pay the difference plus booking fee of $340 or fly back home on 9th May. I pleaded with them to have DISCRETION and not charge us that much for a mistake that took literally ONE CLICK to commit. They said NO, NO, NO. Not caring...

Waited 2.5mths i still don't get my refund !!!!

I've waited 2.5 Months i stil ldon't get my refund, bloodsucker jetstar..i don't know what's the norm for them to process refund..if only that rude Customer service staff allowed me to make changes to the flight & top up the difference i'll not have my cash stuck for such a long time. Jetstar wanted to charge rebooking fee & fare difference after Christchurch earthquake

I am from the US, and was in Christchurch during the earthquake, and lost everything and ended up a shelter for the night.

I went to the airport the next day for my scheduled Jetstar flight from CHC to AKL, and was told by Jetstar that there would be no flights that day, and that I had to call their 0800 number to rebook. When I tried to do this, they told me that I had to pay a re-booking fee and a fare difference(!). The Gold Coast to Tokyo flight 2nd December???? We booked online and confirmed 8th October.... but SIX WEEKS after the booking confirmation and 5 days before departure Jetstar called and changed it to Goldcoast to Osaka.
We were advised to find our own way to Tokyo when we arrived at Osaka.

Despite our pleas for help,No offer to help find a flight.

cancelled flight

This carrier has no idea about customer service, staff must have missed customer service training day . or they dont teach it if I want to make a change to my flight it will cost me hughly, but jetstar dont give a shit they just cancel flights when they feel like it how can they cancel a flight that is 3 months away, so my flight is cancelled. has any one tried to call jetstar to say you are not happy, after 20 minutes you may be answered only to be hung up on by incompetent staff that cant redirect a call, so after another call the same happens and you cant talk to a manager, no use...

Told OK to make future changes to flight if charges paid

Unable to use original booking for 4 so I was advised I could make a generic booking if I paid the $50 per person charge, then when I know when we wanted to travel I could change the date for no extra fee. They were only $72 tickets so you would question whether it is worthwhile paying the extra $50 anyhow! I paid the charges as I thought I would use them at sometime (within 12 months). Even though I don't need to use them I thought we would have a weekend away so I phoned up only to be told the rules say every change incurs an extra charge. Missed internation flight, wasted huge amount of money due to jetstar

My friend had a flight scheduled to leave from Auckland at 17th FEB 11:50pm heading back home to Korea. She was in Christchurch at that time with me and I got her a domestic flight departing CHCH at 7:30pm arriving in Auckland at 8:50pm
Apparently the flight got delayed for an hour, and I was told by the Jetstar staff that it'll leave 8:30pm, assuring me she won't miss her international flight. I went home ASSURED, and got a call from her that she missed her international flight due to Jetstar flight getting delayed again and departing CHCH at 10pm arriving in Auckland 11:10 pm ish....

From what I know, jetstar really suck.

1. It delayed our flight for 3hrs due to maintainance problem and the staff didn't even announced it properly to the passengers whom on board were mostly hongkongers ( flight to hk ) and others.

2. Jetstar service counter refused to explain to the passengers why this delaying happen and went into hiding deliberately! The service counter was literally empty after quite a number of passengers proceeded to ask enquiries about the flight after the plane had made a turn and landed...

Watch out for Qantas code share bookings

Booked a return flight with Qantas Brisbane Sydney. Flew Qantas to Sydney, then discovered I was on Jetstar operated code share back. There was no capacity to check in on line. I arrived at the airport check in counters with 5 minutes to spare. Tried the machine console ... did't work, so had to queue up for the check in desk (I had no baggage). I was told I had missed the cut off by about three minutes. Recently I had a terrible time with jetstar on a Jetflex ticket from Jarkata to Singapore.

I called the local Jetstar office in Jakarta and was told that I had to PERSONALLY appear to pay US$13 for a fare difference to get a seat.. I wanted to pay over the phone but they will not accept credit cards.

So I called the jetstar international line 007xxxx that WILL process credit cards over the phone.. However I was told repeatedly that flights from Jakarta to Singapore was fully booked till the end of march.. There was NO SEATS period.. She offered a refund ..
