My story with being employed by jetstar

Dont fly Jetstar as your friendly pilot always was wearing a parachute just in case my calculation was wrong for the amount of fuel ( or lack of it ) that we where only allowed to carry as free flight costs very little just to keep the costs down but i won't go into the maintenance of the aircrafts i'll only say i do carry a lot of life insurance so do you get what i mean

we went to the airport last night to fly to singapore. As we get to the check in counter, caroline the jet star staff asked for our tickets and passports. She checked our tickets and says that it was last nights and said that we mustve got confused because the time of the flight is mid night, we were shocked but admitted it was our fault. She offered to get us tickets for that flight with change fee against the ticket we have for the previous day for 80 each. Jetstar think people are fools

Sure i booked a flight to Melbourne arrived & booked in on time but then Jetstar said the flight was canncelled due to a mechanical fault so if there planes are so unreliable why would you fly with them as when your in the air maybe it just could fall out of the sky ha ha ha Slish/Slash/Slish/Slash

I tried to book a ticket from sydney to melbourne, after completing all the details and card information and being submitted... an error occured which said to start over.. i started over and submitted again the same message occurs to start over. so I gave up with jestar and booked another flight with tigerairways.. for my surprise when i opened my mail I could see both the iteneries from jetstar and tigerairways. We suffuered a delay in a flight from Mongolia, making us late for two connecting flights, a China Airlines one, and Jetstar Singapore-Cairns. Mongolian Airlines should have informed Jetstar, but I cannot guarantee they did. This is my story (this is the greatest site ever and a testament to just how terrible Jetstar is):

I booked a Jetstar holiday package to Phuket, Thailand for 1 week in 2009. I paid only for the airfares as the 7 nights accomodation was free. It was on a hotel opposite Patong Beach (the hottest spot in Phuket). When I arrived there was no accomodation, Jetstar had overbooked it. I was homeless and it was very late. JQ28 14thJune 2010 24 Hr Delay

Sat on Runway for 4 hrs due to mechanical fault , then canceled for 24 hrs at 3 am
no jetsatr staff at Phuket airport. Herded us all into arrival Hall ,told us theyd put us in a "nearby resort" for the night and bus us back next night .only one Imigration officer still working so to help him speed up the process and not need to stamp Our passports as a re entry > the Crew told us to leave our passports with the Non Jetstar ground staff and collect em the next night before we board the aircraft for the flight home !!. JetStar stuf-ups

I booked a Jetstar flight from Perth to Kuala Lumpur which went via Singapore. At Perth I was told that I need to collect my bag and re-check at Singapore. Before the flight landed at Singapore an announcement was made that in-transit passengers should proceed to the Transit Counter and collect tickets and that the luggage will be transferred.
I did so but on arrival at KL I did not get my bag. I was asked to go to the Missging Luggage desk and lodged a report, which I did.

No notice, no help

Checked their website before I went to the airport, all normal and on time.
At airport, sign saying JQ256 was cancelled.
Desk line had three people handling the passengers, then suddenly only one. They wanted to save money.
When I finally got to the fron, they were rude. Next three flights are apparently sold out, so it will be later the next day before they can carry me. Told me to try another airline - but they won't help with the fare - "you are on your own, but we might refund your JQ fare. Pathetic. No hotel offer, no compensation. nothing. Just a "get stuffed"...

Text message from Jetstar saying our flight has been cancelled

I have receieved a text message saying out flight has been cancelled the day before we are due to flight out. Getting a message via text is one thing it also took me 65min to get through to them via phone. No explaination of why was the flight cancelled they simply told me 'we can transferr you to avalon airport' everyone knows avalon airport is futher away from cbd and there is a cost different between avalon airport and tullamarine. jetstar aircraft fly defective in non airworthy cond

this is a warning to all that fly deathstar (jetstar) to be aware that although you might be boarding a nice new a320/a330 just be aware that due to being a budget airline that these aircraft are not always safe to fly and do so with some vital systems brocken
this could be something from a simple light globe right through to the aircrafts fms (flight manegment system)
these slippery little suckers are quite a handfull to handle in the best of conditions and is downright deadly if its busy or bad weather

a 2 year old costs $435

In April my wife bought tickets Melbourne-Newcastle return for herself and 3 children for $497. Because the website is unclear and because the 2 year old sits in mom's lap, the 2 year old was bought an infant ticket. On 1 July at the airport Jetstar refused to board the 2 year old. Jetstar brow beat my wife, who's an immigrant and whose English is iffy, into choosing between loosing the $497 of tickets already paid for, leaving the 2 year old behind, or paying $435 for the 2 year old. The bastards even tried to make themselves out as generous by first demanding $600 for the 2 year old...

No room for compassion

I hate Jetstar - they wouldn't let myself and my family onto flight that closed literally as we got to the counter even though we were attending my fathers FUNERAL in QLD. The funeral couldn't start until we arrived almost an hour late. What made me even angrier was the supercilious ponce who had no compasion for the situation and insisted on quoting policy like he was reading from a manual and would not get a manager until it was too late. When I wrote and complained they quoted policy again and basically told me to bugger off.

Still cant confirm a booking

I booked 4 company tickets as we travel alot domestically and for the past 3 days i have been trying to confirm our booking and payment. The web cant help me because it does not recognise my booking . THESE PEOPLE ARE USELESS

Flight rescheduled 3 times - we cancelled, 2 months and still no refund

We were scheduled to fly on the 7:30pm flight from Saigon to Danang on April 28. At about 3pm I received a call advising that the flight had been delayed till 11pm. By this time we were in a taxi travelling back from Vung Tau trying to avoid the rush hour and we were already on the way to the airport. About an hour later we received a text message that the flight was changed to 8pm.. Even better we thought. 4pm rolls along and we're sitting at the airport when we received another text advising that the flight had been delayed till 1:20am!! (yes after midnight)

In May I booked some tickets on-line and (stupidly) to avoid the US$12 Visa-card booking fee I elected to pay at the (Vietnam) post office, what I discovered was that Jetstar still charge $12 for paying cash, and that this system is completely flawed when the customer elects to display prices in USD$.

I was on a plane from Sydney to Brisbane and the man sitting in the aisle seat across from me was listening to his ipod with his eyes closed, apparently asleep. My extremely unpleasant experience with this an amateur, disastrous airline:

Got to Gate departure lounge at KL 1 hour before flight to Singapore.(8.20pm) Not allowed to go into departure lounge even though we were earlier told boarding was at 8.40. No info given why. No info on screens. No info outside entrance. Nowhere to sit. Eventually told (8.45) that there was a delay and to return to enter Gate (not board) at 9.50pm. Went for coffee 200 metres away.

Incorrect information stated by call centre

I called Jetstar twice to discuss my options with having to cancel a trip to Bali on a Jetsaver flight. TWICE I was told I could change the name on the tickets for $50 p.p. (no other costs involvved) and to call back at least 24 hours beforehand with the name change. I then proceeded to book and pay for my international flight and then called Jetstar with the names of the ticket change. I was then informed I had to pay over $1000 for the new flights! Lost baggage and Horrible service

I flew from Sydney to Fiji to go on a relaxing holiday, my baggage never arrived and the whole week I was in Fijij I spent most of the time trying to track down the baggage, I was completely astonished that in a country like Australia you can have a horrible business like Jetstar operating. Forced to pay Insurance

I was also forced to pay for insurance and told the customer service representative that I was not happy to do this. He just said well you should have not proceeded with the booking, but called customer service to proceed with it instead!..I stated that their website does not say that this is their policy if you do not want the travel insurance. cancellation of flight without notice

On the 10th May my return flight from Bali JQ38 cancelled even after re-confirming my return flight from Bali Jetsstar office.
Offered alternate route via Darwin to Sydney same night. Accepted. Had to pay $ 264 for two extra.
Trying to claim extra money paid. Not sure whether I will be successful.

Rubbish service

I needed to upgrade my baggage requirements, the website could not find my booking although they had emailed me a reference.

The Phone number for customer service rang for 1/2 an hour each time twice with no answer, you cannot email them or complain in any way.

This nonsense has wasted 2hours for no result, I expect I will be charged heaps when I get to the Airport for the bag.
