Change of name

We have a group of 18 year olds travelling to the Gold Coast on 25/11/12. Unfortunately, one of the party cannot travel due to financial restraints and so we have another person wanting to take over the ticket which was paid for back in March for $265. Upon going to our local Flight Centre, we were told there would be a fee, which we expected. After a phone call to Jetstar, we were told the fee to change one name (maybe a dozen letters) was going to cost $660. Of course we were gobsmacked! This seems very exorbitant to change 1 dozen letters on a booking!
The only other alternative...

Arriving On time

Well, get up early, zoom to the airport, rushing to make a 7am flight with my girlfriend.

We get to the airport at 6:25am, duck the trolley-rails, run through the door, bolt up the escalator and run over to the ticket-terminals.

We pounch in the details of the flight, it prints a "non boarding pass" saying too late for checkin, see attendant.

We stand in line, see the attendant, she says "you missed your flight, go to desk 34 or 35". We go to desk 35, the lovely lady says we have to get a new flight, as we where late to the original one.

Don't believe lies about Cancelled Flights

Don't believe the late night last minute "flight cancelled" BS. We got a call at 8pm in Darwin on the night before our 6.40am flight back home to Brisbane. Operator said the flight had been "cancelled". We were shocked! Why we asked. "Operational reasons" we were told. She then said they could fly us to Sydney that same day and then do a transfer to Brisbane. We would have arrived 7 hours after we were supposed to arrive. Cancellation

They cancelled our flight and only notified me by sms a few hours before and did not try calling my mother who the flight was for till i rang, which was too late as she is at work and is about to catch a taxi to the airport. Web Rip Off

I was trying to book flights online for myself and 2 friends from Sydney to Phuket. Each time I got to the final page to make payment the site would throw me out and return to the Home Page.

Jetstar Screws Me Twice in 2 days.

Jetstar is a joke that is not funny = delay upon delay upon delay tested my kids and my patience

A flight that should take 50 minutes (Wellington to Auckland) ended up taking a whole day. I checked in with my infant (9mths) and toddler (2 years) at 2.15pm for a 3.15pm flight. Robbed by Jetstar

I booked a cheap one way flight for my Fiancee from Perth to Brisbane, rather than pay for credit card fees I decided to direct debit, I received the reservation number and I went into my account and transfered the money into the Jetstar account, I was told by email this could take up to 3 days to confirm the booking, this I was ok with because I had booked the flight 1 month in advance. Overweight baggage/Book domestic, fly Intl.

Overweight baggage seems to be a mayor problem for Jetstar .... or is it just another way for them to rip of their customers? To be penalized $165 for being 10kg's overweight seems a bit exploitative, especially when NO WARNING is given? (on a flight that normally sells for $80-100 ... well, at least before all their sneaky hidden costs)

Jetstar has LOST my money

I booked a flight through Jetstar and in stead of paying the high booking fee price I decided too direct debit. After 3 calls to the call centre and the first person saying that it was fine and because my bank doesn't show a transfer reference I could fax my payment reciept through and all will be fine because they can match the reciept to the payment..the second person hung up on me because it was too hard..and the 3rd person again confirmed that yes this was the process and by faxing it they can match my payment. Does Jetstar have any customers they really value?

For anyone considering flying Jetstar, don't expect to be looked after like a valued customer. Here's my story (I posted it on their Facebook page):

Domestic Flights Departing From International Airports

Just want to share my recent Jetstar experience with you all. Like most people on this site, the issue itself, is not my primary reason for pursuing my complaint...it's the way in which my valid complaint has been handled by Jetstar which is driving me to follow this through to an adequate solution.

Bags sent to Melbourne instead of Sydney... gone forever?

Today my family and myself travelled from darwin to sydney.
As we were boarding the plane, a jetstar staff member informed us that our checked bags and stroller had been incorrectly labelled and put on a melbourne bound plane. When we landed at sydney we spoke to a polite lady at jetstar baggage services who did some checking and said that she had no record of anything relating to our bags. She filled out a lost baggage form on our behalf, and assured us that the bags would quickly be flown back to sydney, and we would have our bags couriered to us by 6pm that evening.

Delayed flight and Dirty Baggage

I had a flight to Christchurch three days ago. The flight was delayed for about one and a half hour. When I arrived Christchurch, I found my baggage very wet on its cover, and filled with strong fish smell (maybe some kind of sauce, not sure). Then I tried to go to the counter to find a staff responsible for bagage damage. (Well, I couldn't find one at the counter until a kind police helped me). our first flight ex wellington was 3 hours late...they only have 1 plane in NZ......then on our return

trying to change a flight, which I had paid for.....(and the supposed free change) the net brings up error, contact call centre, I do , and they want to charge me $100 for changing it as I should be able to do it online...Jet Shit is right.

I look on line and see the same fare grade for the time I want available..... They tell me I am shouting...you thinK! of course I am shouting you are ripping me off....

JETSTAR SCAMS-worse case of customer exploits

AIR nz can you help me.-I’ve just been conned by Jetstar. They cancelled my flight to Singapore and then told me to apply for the loss of accommodation expenses of $700 and that I should rebook new flights (rather than refund me my airfare).

They have just rung me to advise I am not eligible for a refund of accommodation as their conditions of carriage states they do not need to refund my expenses unless stated by the law (clause 8.1). Despite the fact that the can cancel flights and mislead you into thinking you will be reimbursed for the costs and then offered me a $250 voucher...

Arrived at Sydney International for our flight to Christchurch only to see our flight cancelled along with many others to NZ. Were told this was due to adverse weather and supposedly the airport was closed. Ok well here it is. We arrived at Newcastle Airport 2 hours before we were due to fly out to Brisbane to get on our cruise, we boarded the plane and sat.
