Jetstar Complaints

Schedule Changes

Jetstar continues to change flight schedules.
Even after i specifically booked a direct flight to Tas from Gold Coast they went and changed it 2 times after booking and payment.
Arriving on an Intl flight at 6.30am and then getting the next direct flight at 10.30am to Hobart seemed a perfect schedule for me my inlaws and my baby.

Then the local flight was cancelled to the following day.
No offer of a hotel or anything to help out.

So called the airline (wait wait wait on the phone) changed all flights back a whole day so we could fly on the same day as we...

Wake up to yourself. Jetstar has nothing to do with you. Think carefully before you buy a airline ticket! read on

Please people and gentlemens.. If you do fly with jetstar and then complaint about us you should NOT fly with us in the first place.

Think about it. Why only us jetstar why us. How about you search for something like DON'T FLY QANTAS or DON'T FLY VIRGINBLUE

Please wake up passangers i work for an airline which i won't go any details. Makes me so angry by passangers on board about the negative side of things about us. We work so damn hard to make your...

Stuck in Darwin 4 days like live sheep export - but sheep get water.

In very brief summary
Perth to Bali - Valcano popped its top, OK we get that, diverted to Darwin told by pilot we have 1 hour to get off plane clear customs, immigration, check back in and sit in same seats for take off back to Perth.
2 hours later still at check in, hot, humid not even access to water unless you have a pocket full of Aus coins, which we did'nt. Check in counter staff (3) told each passenger 3 different options. We chose to stay and try and fly Dar/Bali next day. Phone call centre for instructions and updates we were told. Nightmare starts at this point. Hung...

waiting for refund, 4 months later and counting...

In November 2010 my flight from Surabaya to Singapore was cancelled due to a vulcano eruption (no news on the net or tv, but whatever). Nobody called or emailed me about the cancellation, you have to go to the airport and find out at the check-in desk.
maybe the next day jetstar would fly to Singapore, so they booked me on this flight.
Again, next day no flights to Singapore. So they offered me a refund, this would be on my account within 3 months and they even helped me book a flight with another airliner, Garuda!
It is 4 months later and still no refund!
I have...

NO REFUND RECEIVED YET, ITS 4MONTHS ALREADY!!

Its so sad that everytime i call the jetstar, telling me the refund is being processed.
until when??? its since early NOV 2010 and worth more than USD1,800 there!
every week i call the jetstar and they give me the same answer: pls check again next week.
OMG!!!! i really hope they dont give false promises.
but
surely we would never fly jetstar again.... :(

Jetstar Australia's Worst Airline Trying to Get From Gold Coast to Hawaii

Although I appreciate mechanical faults and failures can cause delays and I’ll be the first to say I would prefer a functioning plane than to make the front page of the news on another Qantas Boeing 747 disaster. What I do not appreciate is being lied to and treated like total crap by Jetstar customer service personnel. My most recent Jetstar experience included flight delays, rude and patronising personnel, filthy planes and missing my international flight.

I am writing to you, like many other Australians that have fallen victim to Jetstar delays and poor customer service. I sit...

Questions about jetstar negative and positive feedbacks. Please help me.

Hello people. First im sorry if most my questions may not be fully complaints but it is good to know things if someone understand and have or does travel with jetstar domestic within australia.

Question1: Do the plane has a tv to watch for all standard seats on the A320 plane a morning flight from brisbane to melbourne in june ? (i heard jetstar doesnt provide no tv nor intertainment at all because its a cheap airline)

Question2: I wish jetstar does offer a more to choose from from the menu meals. I had a look at the menu meals for domestic and they dont have much at all...

JETSTAR made me strungle on my seat and unable to go to the dunny for a period of time...

I was on the jet plane from SYD-MEL at a morning flight shedule.
When i wanted to go to the dunny the assistant would not let me move my chair even though the stranger beside me was sleeping and i try to wake the person up, Plus she was large. Then i waited 8 minutes and try to get off the seat and the jet assistant made me again seat down and put the buckle up. I was getting mad sorrounding me and specialy the person seating next to me.

It was 30 minutes trying to go to the dunny as i had to go but i was strungle by the jet employee vs the large person sleeping deeply next...

"We misplaced your bags, SORRY"

I flew from Melbourne tp the Gold Coast a few weeks ago. When i arrived at the Gold Coast my bags didnt and i had been told they had been "mispaced". I was given a case number and told to go home. The next day i received a phone call saying they had found my bags and the would be put on the next flight back. When i didnt hear anything for a few days i called Jetstar and got told that they had been lost again! or stolen.
Jetstar managed to lose my bag twice. I am now in the process of trying to claim the $1600.00 (this wont repolace evrything that was in my bag) It takes 2 weeks to...

Booked a non existant flght

We booked a lunchtime flight Danang/ HCMC. This was apparently cancelled early morning. and we were bumped to a late afternoon flight. Same thing happened three days prior to a friend. The local Vietnamese are aware of Jetstar's unreliability and I'm embarrassed that it is an Australian company. I see there are 21 pages of complaints.

Dont complain

After being on the plane for well over an hour and about to pass out from hunger, i finally got to order some food
but was denied as i had not booked a meal.we were only 6 rows down but all extra meals were gone.
Ok then, a blanket ? "you have to book one"

Allright, a beer and a wine." only 1 drink at a time." but you take hours to come back
and never ever answer the call button. 'NO MORE DRINKS FOR YOU"

No , no more jet star for me. ever. I,d rather crawl over broken glass than support this mob

lyied to about refund

traveled from melb to Darwin

spoke to numerous amount of staff about the disaster we faced
we spoke to max, may, ping, tun, and so many other fuken names

Using visa debit card with a nasty FEE price + where is intertainment on board? bored

Thursday i booked a airline ticket for 4 adults in the family for the first time with jetstar for a weekend stay in melbourne comming from brisbane.

Note that it was the only some what cheaper current price to travel on a specific date we wish to travel in june 2011. After Qantas jumped the price to 211dollars at the moment while jetstar is 154dollars to get to melbourne

Anyhow we went thru proccese to the page press next and then see that they where charging me 54.00 dollars FEE just to use my damn debit visa card.

54.00 dollars fee to book tickets with a visa card...

Jetstar loses donated material for Christchurch earthquake

Flying into Christchurch this morning, with the intention of helping friends and family with the earthquake recovery. Colleagues from monash university donated a AUD$400 worth of gloves, shovels, and face masks to donate to the volunteer army. We phoned up jetstar several times, on several different occasions, speaking to different people, each time with the same result: if we want to take the equipment with us, we have to pay the excess baggage. After getting the same response from qantas, i gave up and paid the 80 dollars extra to take the equipment with us. After nearly missing the...

SMH Feb 26 - "Nurse faced paying extra fare after trying to save passenger's life"

reported in the Sydney Morning herald Feb 26-

THE head of Jetstar, Bruce Buchanan, has conceded that the budget airline was ''not on our best form'' when it tried to charge a nurse for an extra fare after she had attempted to save the life of a fellow passenger.

Details of the midair incident on the Jetstar flight from Singapore to Adelaide on November 6 emerged yesterday when Mr Buchanan and the chief executive of Qantas, Alan Joyce, appeared at a Senate inquiry in Canberra into aviation safety and pilot training.

Passengers on JQ62 noticed that an elderly man had...

seating mystery

Booked flights for myself and my partner together, so that both our names are listed in the same itinerary. Didn't want to pay extra to select seats as I figured I could select seats myself when I check in online. I check in for both of us online and we are automatically allocated separate seats on the same row but seats B and E so that we're both in the middle seat but on either side of the plane. When I phoned Jetstar to find out why their system allocated separate seats to 2 people on the same itinerary, all they could offer was to allocate seats next to each other at extra charge. No...

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CUSTOMER CARE! PLEASE READ ON...

I WON'T BORE YOU WITH ALL THE DETAILS... LETS JUST SAY.. JETSTAR PUT THE WRONG RETURN DATES ON OUR FLIGHT FROM BALI AFTER 20 CALLS AND 3 LETTERS AND EMAILS TO A PRETEND CUSTOMER CARE CENTRE. WE CALLED THE ACCC AND INFORMED THEM THAT WHEN YOU GO TO JETSTAR WEBSITE AND CLICK CONTACT US THEN CLICK SPEAK TO SOMEONE IN CUSTOMER CARE IT COMES UP THE PHONE NUMBER 131538..... WHICH IS THEIR CALL CENTRE. SOMEWHERE IN MALAYSIA OR THE PHILAPHINES... AND THEY ALL TELL YOU THE SAME THING... SORRY WE CANT HELP YOU.. AND 'NO' WE DO NOT HAVE A NUMBER FOR CUSTOMER CARE!!! THIS IS GROSSLY MISLEADING...

Flight Delay, Then Cancelled & Refund to take 3 months!

I booked a return flight from Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi to fly on Jan 2011. We flew in from Kuala Lumpur. While we were already on the plane from KL, I got an email from Jetstar that the flight is delayed. When we arrive in HCMC, we saw the flight was delay 12 hrs. It was suppose to leave at 12.30pm. Right, what are we to do when we arrive in Hanoi at 3am!

Subsequently, the flight was cancelled all together. Fortunately our travel plans were flexible. We were promised a refund by the airport staff within 3-4 working days. I just got off the phone with Jetstar customer service & was...

Sorry we overcharged you, can you pay another $500 so we can fix up the mistake

Booked flights on Jetstar. Sydney to Osaka followed by a return flight from Tokyo. Booked over the phone so we could do a multi-city booking. After confirming over and over again that the price was $1081 I found out on my credit card receipt that they overcharged me by several hundred dollars. I immediately called Jetstar back (10 mins after the booking was made). They apologised and told me they would refund the money. They proceeded to ask me for another payment of $500 to make sure I got the same fare I was supposed to pay for. On top of that they told me that it would take 15!!! days...

ACCEPTED MONEY BUT CHILDREN NOT ALLOWED TO FLY ON ARRIVAL AT AIRPORT

We booked airfares for our grandchildren 12 and 9 to fly over for christmas on line. Arriving at Christchurch International airport they were told they could not fly unaccompanied yet the online service asked their ages charged an adult fare for the 12 year old. One would think if an adult fare was charged they would be allowed to travel with the younger one. The grandchildren never arrived for christmas as there was a 16 day waiting period for the refund after we had to supply birth certificates to prove their ages and prove this was the reason they could not fly we eventuly got them...

Alan Jones, Jason Morrisson, David Oldfield, John Laws, Derryn Hinch

Would you guys please give this website a mention? These people on here have genuine complaints. They are reduced to writing to a PO Box in Melbourne with their complaints. But Jetstar (as was my experience) never respond. Especially you Mr Jones. You support those people living on Struggle Street?

Wise words from Phil.

@ Anonymous - Who else but a Jetstar employee would defend a complaint of an airline by arguing that some other airline was worse? There will always be worse airlines. Why can't we Australians have a better one? This website deals with Jetstar complaints - and the website was set up because Jetstar do a poor job with dealing with complaints. Having a good experience on Jetstar, or having a bad experience on some other airline, doesn't negate the fact that someone had a bad experience on Jetstar. If you had a bad experience at Myer, and when you complained were told that David Jones were...

Found this comment from Phil. Worth noting:

I recently learned from someone who studied the Jetstar annual report that 50% of Jetstar profit comes from people who buy a ticket and don't fly. They do this because it is profitable. I'm not saying that 50% of passengers tear up their ticket- what I am saying is that 50% of Jetstar profit is derived from passengers who buy a ticket and don't fly on that ticket. Hard to imagine? Not really - because after all Jetstar not only pocket the ticket price, but also the taxes and fees involved. Jetstar is an airline that derives 50% of it's profit from NOT FLYING PASSENGERS. Something to think...
