OK, I don't blame Jetstar for cancelling my flight from MELBOURNE to DARWIN because of bad weather, at least they cared about that. BUT when we were all asked to give our mobile numbers so they could call us about alternative flights I did not get a call and decided to call them myself because of my International transition.

I was on the Phone to a Philippines head office for OVER AN HOUR and a half (still going) , this consultant did not know what he was really doing, kept on telling me available...

Taking advantage of the Jetstar 2 for the price of 1 sale back in June my girlfriend and I purchased tickets to Singapore. Once we had paid for the tickets we took about 30 minutes to pick all our seats for the 4 flights, Melbourne to Darwin, Darwin to Singapore and back the same route. Jetstar Telephone Support are IMBECILES!

I purchased a return ticket (6 months ago) to the Gold Coast of $180 for a specific event in Feb 2011. That event was canceled recently. So, I decided to change my ticket dates and visit some family and friends in Brisbane, in April, instead.

Stupidly, I didn't take note of the change fees before submitting the date changes online. The cost to change my ticket was $165!!!! It would've made more sense to just simply buy another ticket to BRISBANE outright, and just go to the Gold Coast for a little holiday on the original ticket, since it was only a few days.

Just to make my position clear. I flew on BA to Europe. Indeed the service was sub-standard, the food was horrid and even the toilet paper was so hard it gave me dermabrasion. And that was in First class. But the tier points, cabin bonus and other points landed in my Qantas account immediately. Would I fly them again? no.

Manila Call centre staff awful no communicaton skills

I am travel consultant for a very majoy company here in Australia , today i had to deal with Jetstar's new Manila call centre that they had moved from Melbourne . I was in total dismay the rudeness of the staff i had to deal with . one began yelling at me like i was an absolute moron, i terminated the call . Called back and was hung up on as they had not idea to process a simple refund. I called back again .. demanded the supervisor and was told " simply " NO. so i called back again and finally got connected to the Melbourne call centre, the agent had rectified my issues with in a minute....

I have seen comments on the internet relating to this issue (after it happened to me) dating back to 2008. BEWARE of QANTAS FREQUENT FLYER PROGRAM

If you fly Jetstar and you are expecting your points to be credited to your FF account, you are very likely going to have to fight for them. Jetstar deliberately do not credit points to Qantas FF accounts. I have just made my third trip to Bali and flew in the awful StarClass and every time I have had to fight to get points credited. Jetstar ignored the complaints (what's new) and Qantas staff at Customer Relations have admitted they get complaints about this daily. BEWARE JETSTAR TERMS AND CONDITION ACTUALLY ALLOWS THEM TO CANCEL YOUR TICKET!!!!

Guy, do please be very very very careful when booking JS online. I recently read the T&Cs. There is plenty of room for JS to entrap the customers. It states very clearly if you book online and don't hear back from them via email or etc it is canceled and you have to call them back. They will trick you in sending an "Invoice" and you may think this is done .... but NO!

With the T&Cs, what can happen is JS can tweak or change the online booking steps or web timeout and not let the payment transaction go through. They can do this if they want to increase the fare the next hour...

Increasing the price resulted in missing the flight

I was in Cairns the couple of days before Cyclone Yasi hit up there recently. We had a flight to Gold Coast booked on the first day that Cairns airport was announced to be closed and all flights were cancelled. We were desperate to get out and Jetstar announced additional flights that night. When we got online new flights to Brisbane had just been released and almost the whole flight was available. Obviously peanuts are not a problem in this part of the world, In Canada you cannot even take anything related to nuts to school,university or bring them on Air Canada which is a nut free airlne. You should read the story about the young girl who just bought a dog to sniff out nuts so she can go to grade one restaurant, other than her grandmother's seafood shack on Campobello Island. And she has yet to experience many other joyful rites of youth: unfettered trick-or-treating, sleepovers with friends, slices of velvety birthday cake with mounds of frosting.

A night in Perth airport

Initial disbelief was followed by a quick jaunt down to the Jetstar checkin counter. Best beat the angry mob we thought.

Upon getting to the counter, we were told that no news was available and to wait outside.

By the time we got back in, a new queue had formed. We were at the end.

Three hours later, we reached the front. We were told (at 2:47am)...

Nut allergy

I was totally floured when they started selling peanuts onthe flight. No airline sells peanuts any more with the number of allergies to nuts that is in this world today. I was lucky that the gentleman beside me gave his back an ate chips instead. This is the 21 century get with it!!

Delay upon landing 3 hours... no water

So just over a 2 hour regular flight from Melbourne to Brsibane... opps we have landed in a storm thunder and lightning and we sat on the tarmac for another 3 hours with a noisy brat behind us... do you think the cabin crew even offered us water? I'm flying with them again in two weeks to Darwin, they charged me $3 for a window seat... WTF????? I'm flying back with Virgin, they are cheaper.

JETSTAR STEALING MONEY FROM CUSTOMERS

I think Jetstar is just asking to get sued. Actually i was thinking to dedicate a site just for them and bad publicity, letting people know the truth about Jetstars customer service and poor business practices. If i chose to stay in Australia (which is where i am at now) i will make time in permanently letting everyone know about Jetstars unethical practices until they are run out of business. I think massive boycotts and reports to papers calling them out will do the trick...

I was on this flight WITH my wife and our 4y old daughter .. Jet* didn't manage to give us 3 seats in a row so my wife & daughter were in the row behind me. Huge wait at Jetstar check-in

I flew Jestar from Narita airport Tokyo to Cairns Australia in late January 2011. I was travelling with a sick child so we arrived early at the airport at the airport to check-in, after a 7 and a half hour bus ride to get there. Nevertheless, we then had to stand for almost 2 and a half hours just to check in because Jetstar had only 2 check-in desks for economy passengers for 3 flights (not sure if some of them were code share). I can't imagine how long the many people behind us in the queue had to wait ! They also had a Star class check in desk for the richies, but the clerk stood by...

Today, February 4th 2011, I started the process of looking for an economy flight to Sydney from Tokyo, Japan using Jetstar. I happened to find your site when looking for some advice about transfers at Gold Coast / Cairns ~ on to Sydney. After reading so many complaints I have convinced myself that I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH SUCH HASSLE ~ I have to put much mental energy into preparing for the flight that after I get everything finished I just want to get on my flight, flop down in my seat and get some nice service, there & back. Transit delay

Honestly i hate Jetstar transit at Darwin. It was a nightmare for myself and my family. it was hot, crowded, lag of customer service and delays.

Lost my luggage

Melbourne airport lost my luggage.

Am stuck in Hobart on business as a high end consultant, it's been over 48 hours now.

Guess I'll have to wash my undies in my hotel basin. Jetstar have allowed me $40 to claim for necessities. That's bought me a toothbrush, toothpaste, some pharmacy cream I need for a skin condition and one pair of undies.

I was up at the Whitsundays with my partner last March when Cyclone Ului hit Airlie Beach/Proserpine area. Our flight was due to leave about 12 hours after the cyclone hit and we wanted to get in touch with Jetstar to find out if our flight was cancelled and change our flights to the next day, but there was no power for over 24 hours, no land line and the Optus network was down after the cyclone.
