Jet star should be taken to the Humanitarian Tribunal Court for crimes against humanity. The sheer scale of their stupidity and ignorance is staggering. Lack of customer service skills, lack of intelligence and lack of human decency are the many treacherous pitfalls lying in wait to fuck you over at every turn when you fly this pathetic joke of an airline.
Wow. Those are some pretty heavy allegations on my part, aren’t they. But rest assured I can back it all up. Just as sure as the bile is rising in my throat as I recall my horrors with jet star, I implore everyone to avoid this...
In the Dominion Post (Wellington NZ) 12 October there is a report of a passenger at Auckland Airport who was attacked by the Jetstar check in employee and left conconcussed and bruised.
The passenger turned up three minutes late and was denied boarding. He asked the guy on check in for some discretion and was told to "f... off to Air NZ if he wanted that"
The passenger then told the Jetstar employee that he was a lose employed by a loser airline and as he turned away the JS employee jumped the counter and attacked him and had to be pulled of by security staff.
So much...
I had a call from my daughter's boyfriend's mother at 9.15 pm last night (sunday 10 October 2010) who was panicking because the my daughter and her boyfriend were no where to be found when she arrived at Sunshine Coast airport to collect them. Apparently Jetstar would not disclose information as to where the flight was or even if it had landed. After I was contacted by the Mother who was in a panic, I called Jetstar. It took 45 minutes of me waiting in a queue to speak to a Jetstar operator who told me the flight had landed at Sunshine Coast at it's scheduled time of 6.15 pm. You can...
September 25th while waiting to checkin in Darwin were told the flight to Ho Chi Minh city was cancelled.Poor communication and crowd management as people created their own queues. 30 passengers were flown to Singapore that afternoon which surprised us, as we had been some of the first to checkin our luggage after arriving from Adelaide earlier that day.
We were put up in the airport hotel and given meal vouchers. This was ok.We lost the whole next day waiting for information and eventually boarded alate night plane to Singapore arriving in the early hours of the morning where we...
I was supposed to take Jetstars to Melbourne to catch a connecting flight back to Singapore. But noooooo, Jetstar has to delay the flight, screwing my connection and making me fork out AUD450 for Virgins Blue to make it in time.
But that is only the beginning of the horrors of what must be the most atrocious customer disservice ever displayed...
I called the helpline somewhat reconciliatory - wanting not an apology (none was offered anyways) but just a simple request for a letter stating that the flight was delayed, to facilitate my insurance claim.
I ended up calling...
JETSTAR is known for absolute LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE.
PERSONALLY I HAVE WRITTEN THEM MANY TIMES OVER THE LAST 3 YEARS AND ALL THESE TIMES
YOUR EMAILS ARE DELETED MONTHS LATER "UNREAD".
THIS IS THEIR SERVICE
2 WEEKS AGO MY DAUGHTHER ARRIVED IN SINGAPORE AND ONE BAG WAS NOT DELIVERED.
MORE THAN A WEEK LATER CALLING THE "HOTLINE" BELIEVE IT OR NOT BOTH DARWIN TRANSIT POINT
AND SINAGPORE HAD NOT REPORTED THEIR STATUS ON THE LOST BAG IN THE jETSTAR SYSTEM
SUGGESTING DOWNLOAD A CLAIM FORM ON A SPECIFIC GIVEN WEBSITE

I decided to take the family for a nice 10 day trip to Bali. We have four young kids, boys aged 2,3 6 and 9, so travel is a bit of a challenge at the best of times, but is manageable. I fly all over the world for business very regularly and am Platinum FF with Qantas, Emirates etc, so have flown with some of the best and the worst airlines over many years across the US, Europe and Asia.
Well lets just say that Jetstar opened my eyes to a non existent level of customer service to such an extent that I began to believe that as a customer I was more of a pest and inconvenience to...
On Sunday 19 September, I had a flight from Auckland to Wellington at 8:30pm.
It was the last flight for that day with Jetstar from Auckland.
The flight on Sunday night was cancelled, and the alternative flight suggested was 1pm on Monday afternoon. This was a Sunday night and I had to be at work on Monday morning.
I was offered a refund, or Jetstar voucher, but there was simply no flight, which was my main priority, and I was left stranded. This was devastating and inconvenient, as I felt I had no choice but to purchase a one way ticket with Air NZ, which cost NZ$336...
The complaint letter:
After being rather satisfied with the Jetstar/Qantas service over the past few years - I now regret to express my absolute disappointment with your airline’s lack of communication, especially with your customer service team who were rude and held no responsibility for the situation your airline put us in. Please find a detailed breakdown of the issues we experienced below;
PROBLEM NUMBER 1: DELAYED / FAULTY AIRCRAFT
Our journey began on flight JQ35 from Melbourne to Denpasar on September 16 2010. I used Qantas Frequent Flyer points for this...
My parents' flight was 2 hours late, so my mother had to stay up until 4 am. Having lack of sleep, she got sick and passed out on the plane. There was a bit of a panic on the plane. After she regained consciousness, my father then asked for some hot tea for my mother. The stewardess gave an really small cup of tea and asked for 3.50, knowing what happened! That's why the fee is so cheap, because you get no customer service whatsoever. No common sense! I know you get what you pay for, but this just crosses the line. As a result, they also missed their connecting flight. Also they got...
I recently flew Jetstar from Brisbane to Newcaslte on my frequent flyer points. Well never again. Better off walking home I think. After checking in early I was given, without a doubt, the worst seat on the plane. Last row isle seat. After taking my seat I was drawn to the conversation taking place directly behind me by two staff members. No way to avoid this as they were yelling. Not that they were arguing but simply having ng a normal conversation. not too sure of the reason for the yelling. At first I thought a staff meeting was taking place. Then my thoughts were No this may...
Jetstar have now begun a policy of not allowing you to purchace your duty free from inside Dempasar airport, enroute to Darwin.
Where is freedom of choice?
This forces you to purchace from the duty free inside the Darwin airport at a higher cost, e.g. 1 litre of Bourbon in Depasar $17 US approx $18.50 AUS. Darwin Airport $52 for 2 $26 for 1.
What deal have jetstar done with Darwin international airport? when you consider they own a substantial portion of the Duty free shop.
Akl-Chc delayed 2.5 hrs. Check in advised due to weather. Funny considering all other airlines operating on time. When I asked the real reason I was told "if I don't like it book another airline". Once finally onboard pilot informed that crew called in sick. Obviously Jetstar run on bare minimum with no contingency plans. Arrived in Chc 3 hrs late. Had a same day return for 5pm. At 3 pm the Jetsar website showed ETD 1730 ie 30mins late so I went to the airport at 4.30pm. Airport screens showed 6.30pm! The Jetstar flight sched for 6pm meanwhile was on time. Jetstar wil not switch aircraft...
Just tried to get in touch with Jetstar to add a checked bag for our flight from Indonesia to Australia.
The customer number provided for Indonesia does not work. At all. From any phone.
Thanks Jetstar!
Called the Australian number, to no avail. Hung up after 30 minutes of waiting on the line, getting nauseated with sickly sweet Jetstar promotion shoved down your throat. How do you spell customer abuse? J-E-T-S-T-A-R!
Called the U.S. based number from my Gmail (free calls to U.S. numbers), expecting yet another hour being robbed from my life.
I waited 5...
Flying tomorrow to Sydney but no itinerary or booking confirmation emailed to me. Rang to ask for confirmation/itinerary to be sent. So far, 48 minutes listening to grating non-stop Jetstar advertising, punctuated with "did you know you can ask questions on-line" (ie, why don't I just get off their telephone line), and every ten minutes they replay the two untrue statements "we value your call and will be with you soon".
There is no on-line pathway for my request, so to point out their service omission I have to use the phone, and so i must listen to their hateful "spread your wings...
I am really annoyed at the moment & as I can't seem to find a Jetstar complaints number, email or form I figured why not join the crew here & at least tell my story. Today I booked my flight to Bali online for my mum's birthday (she lives in Bali) & also my brother booked a flight for me as well with out my knowledge on virgin with him (he is a travel agent). The booking was $967 so not so low cost for one.
Within 3hrs of booking online my brother told me he booked us today on virgin & to get on to Jetstar to cancel the booking, from his experience as an agent he...
I have been trying to book a flight to Hobart from Melbourne for over 1 hour now on the internet. Get through all the procedure, typing in the day, the time, finding a seat then. Try to pay for it no such luck! Jetstar will not accept my payment....Try again, must be a simple error. One & half hours later, frustrated & angry just can't pay for it. I have tried three times tonight, and three times this morning at 6.30a.m ...was late to work because of it. Thought don't worry try the phone, Can not get them........Looking towards Virgin over the Tasi Island instead. Maybe...
Flying in September 2009 from Hanoi to Danang. Typhoon Ketsana was in Danang, blowing everything away. While Vietnam Airlines coancelled all its flights, even the ones going to HCMC, Jetstar decided to go.
20 minutes before going down to Danang the pilot told us to fasten our seat belts because it might be a bit windy. Most passengers did not know about the typhoon, most of them being tourists. The plane went down, and when it reached 10 metres above the ground (I could see the palm trees bending with the wind), it shook so hard, went on the left, went on the right, and when I...
Arrived at the domestic terminal well over an hour before what I believed to be a domestic flight. Silly me, the flight was leaving from the International terminal. I should have known that, even though my itinerary made NO mention of this fact. Rushed over to the international terminal and got there just under an hour before the flight. My flight was on the departure screen right up until I got called to the counter when it disappeared. Officer asked his supervisor if he called check me in regardless - NO - she was extremely rude, arrogant and condescending to both him and me. I was...
I was going down to Queenstown from new Plymouth for 3 days....Went down on Air New Zealand which was as usual up to the high standard you expect. Coming back to New Plymouth from Queenstown you have to do in two segments ....Queenstown to Christchurch and Christchurch to New Plymouth. I could not get a connecting flight with Air NZ so booked with Jetstar. One of my clients in Queenstown told me that I was risking getting back to Christchurch on Jetstar as they do not have a good reputation in actually getting into Queenstown because of there pilots lack of experience.. Anyhow we risked...
HCMC to DANANG, first and last experience with JETSTAR,,, Plane was disgustingly dirty, rubbish all over the floor, on the seats, everywhere, the customer in the seat next to me found a full Air Sick bag in his seat pocket, that's just wrong.
Jetstar Vietnam also have some sort of retarded carry on lockers, i think went out of style about 20 years ago, the same carry on I have traveled with around ASIA for the last 10 years is not acceptable on JETSTAR Vietnam flights.... AIR ASIA, TIGER, VNAIR, etc etc all accept this standard bag.
Staff at check-in very unorganized and...
Booked thru the tickets from Qantas website using QFpoint, confused by the paperwork with Qantas logo and mistakenly went to Qantas counter, advised by a nice Qantas lady go straight to Jetstar service desk and still have chance to get on the flight. It was 10.09am.
Arrived Jetstar service desk, got shout by a lady immediately ‘’ you got to step behind the queuing point’’
I complied and apology with my urgency.
Finally served by another lady, explained my late situation for flight on 10.30am and got rejected straight away and advised the latest flight is tomorrow....
I was booked on a return flight from Bali to Sydney and did so a few months prior, upon boarding i took my seat in 1A as I suffer from anxiety attacks and this has a window and close to the front which doesnt cause me any problems. However upon sitting down I was ignored an offer of water or drink and then told i had to move to a center isle seat as a woman with a baby required my seat. Therefore I was placed somewhere I try to avoid because of theses attacks and explained to the attendant however they insisted we move from these two seats.I did so and was amazed that the woman who took over...
Great customer service, I made a booking, gave my credit card details and hit purchase. It came up showing that I had paid but for some reason still owed the credit card booking fee, tried to pay the $7 but again came up showing it was still owing. I have a confirmation number but booking wasn't finalised as far as I know. Tried to contact Jetstar to confirm the status of the booking and wether I had been debited but the only number you are given is 131538, no options just a message telling you to try again. I did several times, obviously Jetstar don't want to be contacted by their...
