JQ35 has been cancelled due to insufficient staff...

Decided to fly down to Melbourne for the Easter long weekend...Flight was initially due to leave 3pm Friday 22/04/11 - was sent a text in the morning saying the flight's been delayed and will now leave at 4.30pm. No dramas there.

Get to the airport, check in, get to departure gate before 4pm and confirm with staff that the flight will indeed be leaving at 4.30pm. 4.50pm rolls by and everybody's still waiting to board. An announcement is made - "Jetstar flight JQ35 to Melbourne has been cancelled due to insufficient staff." Guess a few staff members must've chucked sickies that day...

Strong winds blow container into Jetstar Plane

Jetstar passengers were forced to disembark from their plane at Wellington airport after a gust of wind drove a baggage container into the side of the aircraft.

The incident happened this morning as the plane prepared to fly to Auckland.

A Jetstar spokesman said the gust of wind caught the last baggage container as it was being loaded into the plane on a mechanised lift, causing it to strike the side of the plane towards the tail.

Jetstar plane forced to turn around after hydraulics issue

A JETSTAR plane bound for Perth was forced to turn around and return to Melbourne last night.
Despite reports of passengers hearing gunshot-like sounds, Jetstar said the mid-air turnaround was due to a hydraulics issue.

A Jetstar spokeswoman said flight JQ 972 landed safely at Tullamarine as a precautionary measure.

The flight had taken off at 4.10pm.

"As a precautionary measure, we decided to return to Melbourne," she said.

"The crew followed standard safety procedures, there was also a back-up system in place."

After a few months of frustration you may get to this point, the operater on the other end of the phone in a dead pan voice telling you your claim has been processed and you should be refunded within 15 working days. Dont bother calling nor look at your bank statement as it will more than likely take a full three months if you are lucky. I'd be more happy if they just told you this straight out ? The delaying of the outgoing of funds to a standstill rate from the finance department imo is illegal and needs to be investigated. To many big businesses in this country are getting away with...

This is my first time booking online with Jetstar..I've yet to travel with them. Hey booking online at first was easy..
yeah.. type in our datas and all.. then comes the payment.They gave me a booking reference. ok I'm fine with it.
I opt for the OFFLINE payment method, of which I PAID thru the SAM machine ON THE SAME DAY.

Cancelled flight and 7 hour wait for 8 month pregnant mother of 2 toddlers

We went to Sydney airport this morning at 9.30am for a 10.55am flight to Adelaide. The boards and announcements said nothing about any cancellation issues. We printed our boarding passes at the kiosk for our flight and joined a queue for 20 minutes for bag drop, to get to the counter and be told there was no flight to Adelaide. There was no current plan to deal with the cancellation of the flight, we needed to step aside and wait until there was a plan! Issue with plane, 15 hours waiting in lines... not on a flight again till tomorrow with a different airline

After checking in at 4.30am, I am now back in my family home at 6.30pm, were I started 14 hours before, missing a day at work. Using my annual leave to sit in an airport.

Our plane had an equipment issue, so the flight was delayed 30 mins, then 1 hour, then till 2pm. They promised 2pm we will fly either with that plane or a new one.

2pm came around... nothing NO COMMUNICATION, just one $15 voucher which isn't even enough for a meal.... after many many minutes with the Jetstar just looking back at us with no answers. They said our flight was cancelled. And we had to go back...

Grieving family stuffed around

In June 2009, my Opa fell fataly I'll in Melbourne, we flew over immediately but sadly he passed away 5 minutes before our flight took off. After the funeral we spent a couple of days with family before finding the cheapest flight home. We were booked on a 1:40pm Jetstar flight home.

We arrived at the airport with plenty of time to spare before our flight, checked in and headed to the gate. Should have flown Virgin Blue

My family were heading on a holiday to the Gold Coast- the first holiday we'd been able to save up for in over 2 years. When booking we checked Virgin and JetStar (Tiger didn't fly from Sydney at the time). The two holiday options were a Virgin Blue holiday flying out at 10 AM staying at a 4 star hotel for $1,780- wow, that's cheap we thought. Then we found a JetStar holiday flying out at 6AM staying at a 3 star hotel for $1,699. 2 Cancelled flights in 1 day! Fri 22 April 22 hrs Sydney to Melbourne

My Easter trip to Melbourne was screwed up by Jetstar. Had booked a return flight Sydney to Melbourne on JQ35 at 3.15pm Fri 22 April.
Checked in nice and early at 11.50am as at Sydney Intl terminal. Initially flight was then delayed to 16.25. All queued and waited...and waited. Issuing of Voucher for refund

Due to Christchurch earthquakes Jetstar advised that they cannot give refunds for persons who were supposed to attend the Rugby World Cup games in Christchurch, but will issue vouchers to spend on other jetstar flights. Person I spoke to initially was very helpful advised that Jetstar 'values their customers' was pleasant, got my six booking references and advised that I would get the voucher emailed to me in 5-7 working days, prima facie thought that there would be no problems. Refer - Being the manager of a hotel in queensland, I have offered the police, fire dept, search & rescue, hospital staff free accommodiation at our hotel.

Spoke to Patrick Martin from Jetstar who offered us some cheap "Compassionate Fares" at NZ$90 each way. Now when I have come to book them, Jetstar are defaulting on their promise. Whats more I can not get hold of Patrick Martin either.

I have also sent an email to Jetstar with no response...

The only way we can get anything done about the deplorable customer service from Jetstar and others is to lodge a complaint with Consumer Affairs.
Consumer Affairs have told me that they will only take action against a business if they receive large numbers of complaints which then trigger an alarm. If each and everyone who has posted on this site lodges a complaint......we might get Jetstar to lift their game!!

Currently sitting at Melbourne Airport waiting for the 8:05am flight from Melbourne to Brisbane and then i get to catch a bus from Brisbane to the Gold Coast YAY!!! all because my 06:20am flight Melbourne to Gold Coast was CANCELED!!! now im not sure why it was canceled they are not saying much!! but the next direct flight to the Gold Coast is sometime in the afternoon.

On March 1, 2011 I decided to book a return flight from Manila to Singapore for April 15 to 20 to take a short holiday. On my first try, the online booking did not push thru as the website hanged. So I restarted my browser and decided to rebook. When I was doing it the second time, the webpage alerted me that I had made a similar booking previously and asked if I would want to cancel that previous booking. A plane load of lost luggage

I stupidly paid $400 one way to fly jetstar today, and they managed to leave behind almost every single passenger's luggage. How do you not realise that you have no luggage on board for a full flight? We were not told anything until about 25mins after we landed, and there was no luggage to be seen. OK lets just straighten this out, I keep hearing you should expect this or that because this is a low cost airline.

It ain't that cheap! 10-20% that does not equate to a low cost airline and therefore expect to be treated in a manner that does not befit an airline.

Where do I start

Jetstar have no right to be in business. Clearly management don't care about anyone but themselves and their bonuses based on profit and savings. Actually I would not have a problem with this is the service was outstanding but it's not. In fact it makes Aeroflot look good. I really don't know where to start. Will i ever get my refund???

Jet star is the worst airline i have ever delt with. i have never had problems with any airline but jetstar is just unbeleivable. When i called about receiving a refund, they explained the process and it sounded so easy. i have being trying to get my refund for over 2 months now, each operator promises but never keeps the promises. i have contacted them more than 10 times and each time i was kept on hold for more than 1hr.

they dont have a complaints department, thus there is no way we could report and directly speak to someone about our problem. I am on hold with jetstar right now...

Jetstar seeks damages for Sydney Airport chaos

Jetstar has signalled it will seek compensation over yesterday's security hitch at Sydney Airport.

A total of 29 flights were cancelled and thousands of passengers were stranded overnight after 16 passengers passed unchecked through security during a power failure.

The power failure caused the breach at the T2 terminal yesterday just after 3:00pm (AEST).

The terminal was evacuated and passengers had to be re-screened before flights could resume, causing significant delays.

3 MONTHS WITHOUT LUGGAGE

I flew from Sydney to Denpasar (Bali) airport on January 1st 2011 and from the moment I saw my bag leave on the conveyor belt there were problems.

First of all, the lady who checked me in sent me to the completely wrong terminal and I nearly missed my flight. Then when I arrived in Denpasar airport, my luggage was nowhere to be seen. When I reported my bag lost it seemed that no one really cared, and being in a foreign country just made matters worst. Jetstar, this is not 'nam, This is flying. There are rules.

To date I've have not have never had a good time flying with jetstar, however this experience really left me feeling like I had been "log jammed"!! Anyway, here are 7 good reasons to "do not to fly" with jetstar:

1. Direct Flight from Tokyo to Gold Coast was changed twice. The last change (on the day) resulted in a 6 hour stop over in Cairns.
2. Return flight from Gold Coast to Cairns was cancelled without notice. Actually there was notice, however jetstar only bothered to SMS and call Japanese phone numbers. Not the smartest thing to do when your passengers are...
