I too will never fly Jetstar again

I was about to embark on my first journey as a new mum with my 5 month old baby. I needed a low-priced flight, so I considered Jetstar (when normally I would have flown Air NZ) I am kicking myself now. It seems that you definitely get what you pay for.

I rang Jetstar before I booked my tickets to ask what their baggage allowances were for infants. I was told by the lady at the call centre that I could take 2 large items checked-in for free on top of the usual 20kg per person baggage allowance. I will never again fly with Jetstar

I have too many nightmarish stories to write them all here...but I must admit they all sound quite similar to others already posted. I fly to the Gold Coast once every three weeks and I too am saying I will never fly again BUT unlike some of you have mentioned here - I will not be going back again. Sale or no sale (in fact i have vouchers I have torn up because I simply am not interested in flying with them ever again) You get no service, arrogance and confusion! Jetstar or deathstar, you decide?

After two years of avoiding Jetstar I made the fatal mistake of using the again, in 2008 they delayed my flight by two days, this impacted my annual leave and accommodation in Bali, ok whilst it was a pain I managed to make the changes I requires with work and our hotel in Bali, however this was not the end of it, on the return trip , due to a mechanical issue we were forced to wait at Denpasar airport for 7 hours whilst the Fixed the plane.

So with all of that forgotten I booked my holiday with my family for Jan 2011 again with Jetstar, well that was a joke as well the flight on...

Thought i'd contribute after reading some of the threads that people have wrote. So far, its usually about the same things like:
for example...
1. Cancelled flight
Instead of being pissed off, remember one thing, your on a budget airline, shit breaks down, sucks but what can you do, i'd rather get in a plane knowing it's going to take off safely right? "oh okay screw it lets all crash", i'm kidding but my point is this shit can't be helped when it comes to things like that.

2. Delays
Delays can really screw up plans, so can train delays...

Will never fly Jetstar again!

Jetstar caused a nightmare weekend in Saigon.

Booked with 3 year old son on flight Hanoi to Saigon on Friday afternoon at 3.30pm. Receive sms at 12pm that flight will only leave at 8.30pm due to "technical problems".....right?? Arrive with a very tired child late at night in Saigon and miss the dinner we were going to.

Heading back to Hanoi on Sunday on flight at 3pm. Guess what..receive and sms at 8am saying flight now leaving at 8pm in evening. Again with the excuse of "technical problems""....3-year old son is has now become sick so need to pay for half-day to stay at...

The Scum Also Rises.

Of late it appears the jetsar scum, particularly those of the Malaysian call centre and the bitter busboys on flights, have been staging a lame comeback of sorts on this here site.

Indeed. Lame it is.

I think if ever the site owners needed proof that this messege board of theirs can ruffle a few feathers, they can see a whole pot-puree of embittered jetstar employees and enraged Malaysian peasants. Satisfying proof if I've ever seen it.

I would like to share my experience talking to Jetstar call centre.
I have spoke to both call centre, Malaysians and Australians. Both of them were crap.
The Malaysians spoke very fast and difficult to understand.
Same goes to Australians, they not helpful and rude.
Refund, delayed, cancellation and so many issues with Jetstar.
I dunno who should be blamed, is it Jetstar or the call center.
And I dunno whether the call centre is belong to jetstar or the 3rd party company.

It's a nice weather on that Monday, me n my gago friend checking in for our first flight in our life, the check in staff are hot!! Like Tom yam, they keep on smiling even they have no teeth, so while waiting for our turn to check in, a guy approaching us and asking where we want to fly?? flight cancelled twice in one day ... then we pulled the plug

So Jet star cancels our flight to Hanoi twice!!! in the space of four hours, offering us a later booking every time. After round two, we decided not to risk missing our connection the next morning and bought tickets with a competing airline out of pocket ... Rather expensive tickets, but better than forfieting our thousand dollar tickets home. I think we made the right choice. Would rather spend the money than depend on this joke of a company. Never again.

Bad customer service experience-(Farha Ho)

I called the other day to speak to a customer service rep.My call was taken by a Malaysian agent by the name of Farha Ho.I got her full name when I called the second time because when I called the first time my query wasn't solve.The second agent was really helpful and he assisted me by answerin all my queries.I told him that I called earlier and I wanted to know the name of the agent I spoke to.He gave me the same saying that the agent left some notes in my booking history.

I travelled to Malaysia 7 times and my experience was i found the Malaysian people really friendly and...

I did a brief story on Jetstar 3 months ago re tin pot airline and the delays (3days) my son had going to bali I sent a registared letter to the H/O in melbourne still no reply I sent it again , still no reply so I am not finished with them I am calling the Sydney radio stations and giving them all the dates and registered letters to show them why anyone who flys with jetstar has rocks in their head the sooner you all stop flying this shit airline the sooner they will go broke and good ridence.

Bad service

I am very pissed of from the service that I received. Booked a flight from Melbourne to the Gold coast around Christmas to travel after new year, received an email stating that my flight has been rescheduled to depart 30 minutes later. Fine. Accepted the changes and then received a call the next morning from someone claiming that my flight is cancelled, and I'm departing the next day. Couldn't really understand her all I could catch was her name " Jane " from Jetstar , flight cancelled. I asked her to repeat what she said because I couldn't understand, and she said , what, can't hear what...

Point of view from a pilots point of view!!!

I am working for British Airways as a pilot..I was in Tullamarine the other day and I was shocked to see how dumb and ignorant an Australian passenger can be..to be able to bring a surfboard on board..you got to comply with the standard fixed length..this passenger was arguing with a stewardess..I just don't seem to understand..many Australians keep talking about facts and figures,law and order..I don't think Australians should fly or board any plans if they refuse to comply to rules and regulations..try riding on the kangaroos instead..

Still no refund

I wrote about my incident with Jet Star on the 7/11/2010 (What happens when they cancel your flight) and as yet the promised refund has not materialised and I am sure it never will. I am not so worried about that because I will never fly with this Jet Star again. What incenses me is some of the pathetic attempts by Jet Star employees to slur our stories and insinuate that we are in the wrong. Not all air fares are cheap or on sale and not all passengers expect anything remotely resembling special service. “WHAT THEY EXPECT IS WHAT JETSTAR PROMISED”.

But as a carrier if you promote...

where is the refund after 60 working days !!!

On 10th October 2010, I logged on to the Jetstar website to purchase an air ticket from Hong Kong to Singapore for 12th December 2010.

After duly following the on screen instructions, I reached the payment and final confirmation page. However after keying in my Citibank credit card details and clicking submit, there was an error message and no booking reference was provided. On the assumption that the booking did not go through, I repeated the process but the same error kept repeating over multiple attempts.

Finally I had to do the booking through the phone on the 11th...

Jetstar Sucks? Then...

Dont fly Jetstar as the name of this website suggests. But the next time a sale goes on, some of you here, as Yosuke had pointed out, will be the first to book. Then when something goes wrong, guess what? You guys are back here yet again, claiming for the god-knows-how-many-times that you would never fly Jetstar again. Gosh... It is beyond funny and silly.

My suggestion is simple. So simple that you have vowed this several times in fact. Why dont you guys actually do what you say? Dont fly with Jetstar again... Ding ding ding! Doesnt that sound like a brilliant idea? Fly with Virgin...

NEVER AGAIN GOING TO FLY JETSTAR

It's funny how you read many stories on how bad Jetstar's "service" is and how they will NEVER fly Jetstar again, but if you pull up their records you will see that whenever there is a sale or cheap flights its "these" people that are on the website trying to secure a booking for themselves.

You guys tend to whine and complain about anything and everything if it’s not going your way. If you read this website you will see people complaining about Jetstar's flights that were cancelled due to weather and in the same time you can also see they complain WHY Jetstar flied in such bad...

Lost Baggage

We recently flew on a Jetstar flight to Fiji for a 5 day holiday. When we arrived at Nadi airport we were told that they do not know where our luggage was. After 2 days without our clothes, the airport delivered our baggage and Jetstar did not offer any explanation or apology. I'm currently making a claim for the clothes that I had to buy during the first half of our holiday and will update you with the outcome. So far they have been terrible but I still haven't written them off completely. Update coming soon.

refund run around

I paid for a flight in December via direct deposit and the reservation number was incorrectly entered. After numerous phone calls and multiple faxes detailing my bank account details they told me my payment would be reassigned to the correct reservation number and used to pay for the flights. On the 11/1/11 i received the money back in my bank account (the flights were never paid for), except instead of receiving $315, only $118 was returned. They say the full amount was returned (it wasn't) and that they haven't received my latest fax and I have now been given a different fax number...

CANCELLED FLIGHT AND NO ONE HAD ANY IDEA WHAT TO DO!!

Travelling on Flight JQ458 Sydney-Ballina Byron. I really needed to get up to there because if I didn't get up there in time, my grandparents who were picking me up would not be able to get home due to flooding on the NSW northern rivers.

We board the plane at 2:30pm for 2:55pm departure, which is all good. The door is finally shut at 3:00pm (5 minutes late), and the aircraft doesn't move, and it was extremely hot on board. I’m pointing this to you Aussies people who pretend cannot understand Malaysian accents, when the agent cannot help you. Note this YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND MALAYSIAN ACCENT, WHEN THE AGENT CANNOT HELP YOU. Out of 100% calls which we receive, 70% of Aussie is a very nice people and friendly, but 30% out of it is total CRAP, expecting more and more. It’s a simple commences that every Airline do have their own Terms and Conditions, just because the ticket is cheap you people will jump in and do the booking (I BEEN HEARD MOST OF THE PASSENGER TELLING I WILL NEVER FLY WITH JETSTAR AGAIN…HOW TRUE...

Staff posing as satisfied passengers

Anonymous, people get on here to air their grievances. They don't loiter around on sites making glowing comments about this shoddy airline defending it. If on the other hand, you are a happy and satisfied customer...you should be working for them instead of wasting your life like a rattle snake coiled up in a corner ready to strike anyone with an adverse comment. I put it to you you are Jetstar staff. That being the case, get to work and go about making your passenger's lives hell like the rest of your counterparts.

Jetstar Lounge Gold Coast

I arrived the other day in their tawdry lounge. The only food that was there was a piece of roast beef which looked like it was the sole of John Wayne's old boot. They also had emaciated Sushi. I asked if they would put more food out (after I found someone...they were hiding out the back) and they said not for another couple of hours. Then one of the staff decided to get the vacuum out and started doing the floors. It was obviously a ploy to get us out of there, the noise was terrible. The vacuum was cheaper than the food. What a cheap, lame and nasty airline. I have now voted with my feet...

extremely poor customer service

My son, who is only 13 and never been away from home was to board a flight JQ524 to fly from Melbourne to Sydney on the 6/1/11, sheduled to depart at 18.00pm. We arrived at 15.30pm and checked in and waited at gate 27 where we were told. 17.30pm arrived and hadnt even heard aything, i approached the customer desk, and asked if we were waitnig at the right gateway, he then told us that it just has been delayed and boarding time was now at 20.00pm and departing time was 20.30pm. i could understand if the weather witheld flights, but it was a perfect day, they had no plane or gateway now for...

Flight Cancelled due to lack of ticket sales

Our flight from Ballina to Melboure was cancelled as a result of the incoming flight being cancelled due to lack of ticket sales.

The Best Jetstar could offer us was a flight the following day via Sydney with a 4 hour stopover before flying to Melbourne. This was not acceptable to us as we had prior events arranged.

I asked to be flown from the gold coast which is only 1 hour away by car, Jetstar refused and would only offer a refud on the original.

We ourselves were able to book a flight 2 hours later, also with Jetstar (unfortunately) from the Gold coast to Melourne...
